Cheap Rain Gear?
as for the frogg toggs, would it be possible to post a link of the specific type? I see a lot of froggs toggs that range from 30-100+ dollars, just for a jacket.

Cheap Rain Gear?
With spring and summer upon us, that means RAIN!!! For those of you that fish in the rain, what are some light weight rain jackets that you wear to keep dry but NOT hot in the summer months? Any that are inexpensive but good enough quality?

Trokar 7/0 Flippin Hooks
I received the from hooks from Trokar. They are 7/0 flippin hooks. I am not familiar with flippin at all. What would be the best plastic bait to use on a 7/0 flippin hook?

Am I reading this right? Free shipping if accessing there link through the BR website? Do they all have that offer? Unless I was doing something wrong, I went to place an order through "Bite It" and they were hitting me with shipping charges

Navigational Lights
This is straight from my state regulations book: Visibility of lights On A Power Driven Vessel On boats less than 39.4 feet in length the white masthead light and stern light must be visible for two miles. The red and green sidelights must be visible for one mile. Boats greater than 12 meters in length have requirements of greater visibility. The picture diagram shows a stern light on the back of the boat, whether it is in the center or the right side, doesn't matter. Also the red/green side lights can either be right in the center of the front of the boat or one red light on the left and one green on the right......again, choice is mine

Navigational Lights
According to my state laws, I need to have a white stern light which must be visible for 2 miles. The red/green sidelights must be visible for 1 mile. I have a 14' Jonboat. I have one battery in the boat which controls my trolling motor. I am trying not to do a couple of things here. 1) I don't really want to add another battery at this time (a lot of cost), 2) I don't want to hook these lights up to my existing battery and have it take up a lot of power which the trolling motor would use. So, my question is this. I have seen LED battery operated lights which cover the colors needed per state laws. Can the battery operated lights put out enough light to be seen from 1-2 miles away? are there any lights that work just as well as a 12v power source would? I have seen some battery operated lights at local Walmart/BPS but the mounting clamp seems very cheap in quality. Does anyone run off of battery powered navigational lights that can provide assistance?

"dark" Fishing
thanks for letting me share the thread............ some good info!!!

"dark" Fishing
If JNATALE3 doesn't mind, I am going to ask a question about this very topic. When fishing at night, Obviously you want to see what you are doing as well as whats around youm but how can this be done without spooking the fish with an "uncommon" light source for at night? I have seen the black lights you can buy to help, but do they really hope that much???? I have never fished at night due to the lack of sight you have.......

Topo Map Question
hm, that makes sense. I have learned that there used to be a subdivision of homes where that lake is. Now I am not sure of the history of when and why but they turned it in to a lake. So that makes sense what you said about the "old road bed". I wonder what it looks like down there.......Have thought about throwing my scuba gear on and checking it out but have not done so.
