Fish kill questions
Of course I have seen floaters, but Im sure that every day of year that at least a few fish die of natural causes(Old age, disease). This being the case,I expect to see more dead fish than I do. My home lake is stocked with trout which are a cold water fish. Im sure lots die in the hot weather we have...Where are they? They sure aint floating.

Anyone ever use one of these?
Heres the reason I said I heard the Blade dancer was a Dud: http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1163136288/0 And yes the original bladedancer was a 1 piece design. The one I posted about is a 2 piece, much like a Chatterbait or swimmin jig.

Fish kill questions
I have heard of fish kills and seen their results in pics. Question I have is why when there is a fish kill,do the fish go to the surface? I know everyday of every year theres at least a few fish that die naturally in my home lake, but I never see any floaters. Why do fish kill victims float to the surface, while fish that die naturally dont?

Comfort zone on a new lake
Theres a lake about an hour away that I frquent. I go at least once a week and am very comfortable fishing there. However I may want to venture out and try some other lake that I havent fished before. Before even going,I can already tell mentally that im gonna be lost . I get lost just thinking about it. Its a new lake and im going to be out of my comfort zone. Anyone else ever get these "jitters" when trying a new lake? Almost like a confidence bait. I have confidence ill catch fish at my home lake, not so much at this new one

Anyone ever use one of these?
Its called a Berkley Jointed Blade Dancer. I know Ive heard the Blade Dancer was a dud,but this is Berkleys attempt at a Chatterbait type lure. Anyone ever used it? Ive got one and before I waste a day of chucking and winding with no results,id like to hear if anyone else had any input. http://www.great-lakes.org/graphics-2/Berkley/rev-12-17-07/4BladeDancerJntd.jpg Testimonials.... Reviews....?

Berkley trans optic line
Anyone else use the Transoptic line with good results. I picked up a trila spool from a promo in a magazine. I believe its 14#. I spooled it on my Shimano Bantam . Wondering if this would be good line to throw soft stickbaits(Senkos...) with. Is 14# too heavy a line to throw soft stickbaits with? Would I get better action with a lighter line? Sorry for the Hijack

What is the WORST BAIT?
Laserlure- I had several sent to me as a promo. Never took em out of the package. The Laser is dead. Suppose I could still use em as a normal Crankbait though.

Caught a Bass male or female?
So then its hogwash when a Professional Fisherman on TV catches a Bass and sexes it based on the condition of the tail? Ive seen this many times, thats why I ask.

What was your personal best caught on?
Id estimate my PB to be 5.5-6# caught on an *** Watermelon Purple Swirl 5" Trick Stick Wacky Rigged

Megastrike on Baits that already have scent
Was wondering how Megastrike did on baits that already had scent on them, such as Berkley baits. Ive used Berkley baits and they do fine all by themselves, but wondered if Megastrike would make them that much better? Would the Megastrike mask the Berkley scent?

Caught a Bass male or female?
I have always been told that the male "Fans" the nest so thats where the raw tail comes from. Thats why im thinking it was a male I caught.

How do you get rid of the JJ Magic's smell
Wanna get rid of the JJ's smell? Rub some Megastrike on it and the JJ's smell might go away... ;D

Standing up vs Sitting down presentations
I just read in the latest Bassmaster in the "Ask Uncle Homer" section where sitting closer to the water may actually help your hookset. Reason being is when you are standing up you have to lower your rod tip, reel up the slack and then set the hook. He goes on to say when sitting down your rod tip is already "down" so the hookset is easier. Now im not taking this as gospel because I have never stood up in/on a boat to fish. Sitting down to fish is all I know.

Soft Stickbaits at night
Anyone throw soft stickbaits(Senkos,Trick Sticks...) at night with success? Ive been throwing a 5" Black Trick Stick t-rigged weightless with Megastrike on it. I do pretty goodduring the day but once it gets dark, its like someone turned off a switch. No strikes,no taps, nothing from anything, including Bluegill. So is it that soft stickbaits wont work at night? Am I wasting my time by throwing them in this low light condition?

Caught a Bass male or female?
The other day I caught a decent bass,I immediately noticed the bottom of its tail fin was,red worn and looked like it would be sore. Im thinking this was a male...Correct? Its July, the spawn is long over, how long does it take for the tail to heal?

Popping retrieve on baits works wonders
Ive been using a Dropshot on an area where are lots of Huge boulders, some the size of a small car.Of course being in such an area, you have a tendency to get hung up when using a DS. More than 1 time recently I have had the experience of getting hung up and trying to "pop" the snag loose. Immediately after the snag was freed,a fish smashed the bait. I even went as far as "popping" the bait when it wasnt snagged, and had the exact same thing happen. So now when I do my DS retrieve, ill shake for a few, drag(reel up the slack) shake,POP,let it settle, lower my rod tip to let the bait fall to the bottom naturally,POP(Not necessarily all in that order It seems to work, like the fish are watching the bait and anytime something erratic happens it triggers a strike. If you havent done so already, give"popping" a try.

Cavitron Buzzbaits
So its possibly the head design thats different? Ill post pics when they arrive in the mail for you to verify. Even though the originals didnt plane as quickly, were you,Lee and others still successful using the original designed Cavitron?

Chatterbait type baits
So these are very versatile, ive heard people say. Ive heard you can fish em like a Spinnerbait,a Jig or a swimming Jig. Anyone ever put a craw trailer on them and crawled the bottom like a normal jig and pig combo, with success? Or are these better with a faster retrieve?

Standing up vs Sitting down presentations
I have a 10' Jon Boat that I catch my fish with when im on the lake. I sit very close to the surface of the water when im in it. How does/will this affect my presentation of different types of baits. I was thinking tat I might get a little deeper with Cranks vs standing up on a Bass Boat In which situations could sitting so close to the water be beneficial, and in which situations might this hinder the presentation of certain baits? I already know sitting down keeps me from pitching and flipping. What about hooksets,Does anyone think I would possibly benefit from sitting,or would more leverage come from standing on a deck like a Bass Boat?

Fishing Superstitions
Im not usually superstitious but I discovered I have a superstition yesterday. I only started using Megastrike this week. After 1 trip I am convince3d in the stuff. Yesterday I launched my boat, and was prepping a bait to throw, but I couldnt find my Megastrike. I was convinced this was gonna be a really bad day. I searched a little longer and found it. My mood did a full 360 and it was Game on. So I believe if I dont have the Megastrike in the boat,im not gonna have a good day.

Cavitron Buzzbaits
I recently purchased several Cavitron Buzzbaits on Ebay. The person who had the listing had them advertized as "The original Lee Bailey Cavitron Buzzbait" Any difference between these that I have purchased and the ones Bobby from MegaStrike Sells? Whats the story behind Lee Bailey,I see he,along with Roland Martin Endorse the Megastrike fish attractant.

Is Megastrike specifically geared toward Bass?

Is Megastrike specifically geared toward Bass?
Ive just started using this product and im just loving it. The strikes are there(lots from Bluegill) and on the first day I used it,I boated 2 really decent fish(for me at least). 1 was about 3.5 lbs,and 1 was about 2.5 lbs. Im used to catching dinks that weigh less than 1 lb and measure only 9 or 10 inches. So this is a big deal!! So im convinced it works, but was this product designed for only Bass or will it work when fishing for Walleyes,Crappie,Northerns,Large Trout and Stripers? What about Catfish? How does this stuff do on Livebait? Anyone tried it for species other than Bass? I know the Bluegill love this stuff!!!
