  1. I use a 6:1 for my flipping/pitching, I like some speed so I can either get the bait back in fast for another pitch or get the fish out of the cover quickly.
  2. I use Strike King Denny Brauer chunks and Zoom chunks year round. 8-) Never had much luck using trailors with lots of action :-/
  3. I only peg my weights when throwing around HEAVY cover or pitching/skipping under docks. But I haven't really noticed much difference in hook up's between pegged and un-pegged.
  4. Personal prefrence, but I like the blue ;D
  5. If you find one for that price again I would jump all over it, as long as you can afford it at the time. Good luck!
  6. found the Energy's on Ebay but no Tour Editions. I have one of the old Tour Editions and LOVE it, may get another for Christmas. Would love to try the new ones but cant afford them.
  7. Thanks alot guys! ;D
  8. $190?? where are you buying at? I thaught the old Tour Editions where going for like $120 and the new ones for like $280 Are you possibly thinking of the Energy?
  9. As far as jig heads go the only ones I've ever used are the "Flipping" heads and "Football" heads, I personally like the football type heads for my type of fishing. For the skirts its kinda personal prefrence, the layers come in something like 20-25 strands per layer so it just depends on how thick of a jig your wanting, I personally use around 2 strips, or mix and match a few strands from one layer with other layers. Im by no means a expert on jigs but I've made a few using the skirt collars and plan on doing some hand tyed ones over the winter ;D Good luck and have fun! its great to catch a fish on something you make your self ;D
  10. I LOVE it! The only other flourocarbon I've tried is BPS XPS and its really good also, I think the XPS is a little less stiff but for the money I prefer Vicious I also spray it down with KVD line and lure, which helps with the memory. I definatly recommend it! ;D
  11. I'm not sure quite yet but I'm hopeing to get a Powell 704 CB and a Quantum Tour Edition (not the new ones) ;D
  12. Gunna be making some jigs over the winter and I found a place where I can get some unpainted weedless jig heads for pretty cheap but Im not sure how to paint them :-/ I love powder paint for all my regular jig heads and weights but cant powder paint these cause of the weed guard Should I use something like the vinyl jig paint from Janns Netcraft or could I use some acrylic or enamal hobby paints? also can I add gliter/flake to any of these paints? and what do ya'll use as a top coat? Thanks for any help
  13. Im a member, have been since November of 06 which is like right when they changed so I dont know what it used to be like but I really enjoy them. like some others said my favorite article is "Day On The Lake" and I personally like the tournament coverage, I like reading what rods/reels ext. the pros use for diffrent techniques

  18. I wanted to try hand tying some rubber/silicone bass jigs, but not sure what to use. Thread or wire? what type or brand of thread/wire? I already have the skirt material and jig heads, but I've only ever used the rubber skirt collars before. Also any tips on the subject would be great! Thanks for any help! ;D
  19. What do you guys think of Powell rods? Im thinking of getting a 704 CB for Christmas for all my shallow-med crankin. I'll be pairing it up with either a Quantum Energy or Tour Edition reel. Thanks for any input
