  1. Nice fish! She's darker than most of the Texas bass I've seen. Nice work, buddy!
  2. Big O. Man, I love the guy, but he gets to fish some trophy waters, quite often, at all the right times. I'm not jealous, and "hate" is definitely the wrong word, but I'd love to be in that position, as to target potential world records every time on the water! Sometimes, I get to do it with him, and those are my favorite fishing trips of the year.
  3. 1) Fish the bigger fish locations (off shore ledges, humps, points) 2) Fish with bigger offerings (large jigs with bulky, water-moving plastic trailers) 3) Fish an area thoroughly (often many casts, and many different angles) If I could offer a fourth, it would be, don't give up. It can be frustrating targeting the biggest bass in a body of water, but only those who do it, will catch them.
  4. 5/0 for most stuff. http://www.moanerhooks.com/shop/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=68_72&products_id=193
  5. I don't fish for bedding fish. I will stay outside areas of bedding activity, catching the ones that haven't gone up yet. Staying in those same areas clear through the spawn, and into post spawn.
  6. That is a Paycheck weight stop, and a 1 oz Tungsten weight. My setup on 65lb braid for flipping wood (and that Falcon Craw Hawg is my go to bait, along with a Space Monkey and Lobster for 99% of my flippin').
  7. Yeah, man, I know it! Let me know!
  8. Here's a Rage Hawg all rigged up on my flippin' stick. That hook is a 5/0 Moaner Stick'R .

Oh, yeah! Black Neon gets it done in muddy water, and low light conditions. I have a friend that throws it all day every day, and catches plenty of fish.
  10. More important than the color? Yes. About 50-50 with the bait or lure itself. Of course, presentation, also has to include boat position, depth of the presentation, and speed worked.
  11. Yup, all year 'round for me, too.
  12. My Northern PB, is also a 9-1, and I kinda figured she was about that old. She still swims today, and we will see how old she is when she's a 10.5 pounder (the state record), because I plan on being the one to catch her. How do you safely take a scale sample?
  13. I gottcha.
  14. Ok, Dwight, I guess I see your point. Maybe 40% then? On another note, I think a 5lb smallie fights harder than a Texas 10 pounder, and definitely longer. They don't give up!
  15. That smallie is ridiculous.
  16. Here ya go, Slone. Obviously, Lobster on top. There is quite a bit of a bigger wave to those Lobster Claws, compared to the Craw, but both have crazy flapping action.
  17. How to clean and lube it? That's easy, just send it to Mike at DVT. Except for cosmetically, it'll come back better than new.
  18. Rage Tail Slobster!
  19. Yeah, that's about right. I'll give ya the extra pound because it's Erie, but generally, I'd say the 50% thing is pretty darn close (LM to LM).
  20. Absolutely! Get yourself some JJ's is you want a lot of scent and permanent dye, and Spike It pens for mostly just dye, but super easy to use and store.
  21. Most of the time, I will throw it on a heavy wire 5/0 hook (Moaner Stick'R to be more specific). That's for weightless, and for Tx rigs. If I want it to basically float, unweighted with a light wire 4/0, will fall slower than a weightless Senko. I don't do that very often at all. And as far as line conditioner, yes, I do use it. I soak the entire spool after I load it, then every once in a while, I'll soak one down before a day out. I have no problem pitching it even 60' weightless on the right gear (like the reel I'm selling).
  22. It's never too cold to fish for bass. Most people just don't have the cohonies to get out there. You do, however, have to start your motor on as low an idle as possible, and let it run for a while to warm it up to avoid block freeze. Then don't run wide open, and keep those RPM's low. And yeah, watch those ramps!
