  1. Yeah, buddy, you're on fire lately.
  2. Really windy days are tough to fish your spots slowly or thoroughly enough due to your boat getting pushed around, or making it harder to cast far and accurately. Days when there is no wind at all, the fish's visibility is at it's best, and therefor making it tougher to fool 'em.
  3. I love it Tx rigged, 1/8 oz tungston weight, also dipped in the chartreuse, hopped on the bottom. Best producing color is the watermelon red. If I use it on a c rig, I drop down from a twist lock 5/0, to a standard wire Gammy 4/0 EWG.
  4. Had a good time today, guys, even though the bite was slow. No problem, we'll get 'em next time. Crawdad, you stay catchin a hawg every time out, man, great job! That pic did come out good, too.
  5. That's great, Jay! Glad you're back in business! Congrats Kevin on the rig, that's cool, too. I just got back in from pre fishing the spot me n' UNH are hitting tomorrow to make sure the front didn't shut 'em off. It didn't really. Got six in a couple hours, but no big ones, with the biggest about 2.5lbs. They were liking the old 10" Anaconda in Red Bug worked real slow weightless. Here's one of the little fellers. Most were in the 1.75-2lb range. Hopefully tomorrow the bigguns are hungry.
  6. Definitely go with the high speed STX, and spool her up with some 50lb braid, and that combo will serve you very well for what you need it for.
  7. Yup. Good day, despite the 20mph winds we were fighting all day. We still figured out a pattern that held up pretty much all day. I like unlocking the secrets of a new lake, really makes you think and overcome. What he forgot to mention, was that that last fish was just a little under 6lbs, and had us both fooled for a 6 1/2 all day, but the digi doesn't lie! I had a great time, and wanna do it again!
  8. No, but Saturday should be good with what I see on the weather report. If it rains... it'll be even better!
  9. Wait till you hear Badcrawdad's report from our outing today! Not too shabby!
  10. I would have voted other, because I've been spending the money on Owners, but for almost half the price, the Moaners are a much better value, and great quality. Exactly what I need to feed my need. Gammy and Mustad are good, too.
  11. Nice, fmoore! Yeah, C riggin' is fun. One of my best producers in summer.
  12. I haven't either. I just figured I messed somethin' up.
  13. Great pics and fish!
  14. That's cool that they are working well for you, but a 3/0 is a little small for the Craw. If you go up to a 5/0, your hookups will improve. Also, have you tried a screw lock style hook, like a Moaner hook? Your baits last longer, and rigging is easier. Rage on, bro! Catch one of those huge, beautiful Briary Creek trophies, and post it up, so we can see!

  16. The all chartreuse Rage Toad has produced for me at some seriously weird times. Now whenever I have my topwater setup with me, I'll throw it, no matter the conditions.
  17. I asked for a review on the same line of rods without much luck. I'm getting one anyway.

  19. Oh yeah, they'll get you there! There are tons of different ways to use them, too.
  20. A wise man once told me to use the best equipment available to you. I'd say if you have the ability to upgrade, then do it. Will your old stuff still catch you fish? Sure it will, but if you do upgrade, I'm sure you will notice and appreciate the difference in newer gear.
  21. I love the Thumper, but just wait till you try the new smaller version!
  22. I can't vouch for any other state or province, but in New Hampshire, there is no such thing as a private dock. Once a land owner puts a dock in a public waterway, it is fair game to all, including tying off to that dock, or even getting out of your boat and onto the dock. Now common courtesy, that's another thing, and quite a few people lack it.
  23. That's a good morning, Jay! I'm probably gonna head out for a while tonight. I'm hoping that the cloudiness, and possible rain will wake the big girls up for me. Usually does.
  24. Can't wait to do it again!
  25. Angler's Inc rules! That was awesome!
