  1. Try it with a Gammy 3/0 heavy wire, or a 1/16oz keel weighted hook. They also go nicely on small round jig heads. My favorite is still on a swim jig, finesse jig, or Chatterbait trailer.
  2. Sounds like you ticked off a voo doo witch doctor. Just stick with it, and you'll get more enjoyment than frustration from it, but we all have our days. You just seem to have lots of those days. On a brighter note, that bass you're looking for is not far away, and could happen on your next cast.
  3. For me, it depends on what I'm fishing out of, or how many people are fishing with me. When I fish from my bass boat, or by myself in the jon boat, I bring my whole tackle bag, which is a Browning Tuto, 8 plano 3700 boxes absolutely packed to the gills with stuff. Usually, that also means 4 or 5 rods, too. When there's three guys in my boat, it can get a little crowded, so unless I'm with a buddy who needs me to provide him with everything, then I bring less stuff, and usually only two combos. When I shore fish (rarely), then two combos, and a spare bait or two get the job done. Either way, 90% of the time, I could get away with less.
  4. It takes 90 lbs thrust to equal 1 hp, or so I was told by my boat mechanic. I'd stick a gas motor on there as well as the trolling motor, like Rhino said.
  5. There are better options than a Vendetta in spinning in that price range. I'd check out the Compre.
  6. I basically cannot cast into a body of water with a jig, and NOT catch a fish! Hit up a little grown-in place that I could hardly get around in, and caught 10 bass and a snot rocket in 2 hours, and most of that time I was fooling around and not really fishing. They were mostly between 2-3lbs. I know it's chilly, but whoever is still fishing right now, is gonna get on 'em!

Great job, Deb, and congrats to you both!
  8. You have to be a Loudon resident, or be with one to fish there.
  9. That thing's Korny.
  10. Roadwarrior, hit him with the three setups he needs.
  11. It happened very fast here in New Hampshire. We were hot one minute, then one cold front set the tone, and from there, the fall bite started to get going within a week or so. Now the fishing is better than it's been since spring. Just keep fishing, and I bet you will find them chasing bait real soon!
  12. Congratulations, Glenn. 30,000 members is huge!
  13. 6lbs, 1oz from today. Same swim jig that's been gettin' 'em good for me lately.
  14. Sounds tough, Fmoore. You did good, though. Hell yeah a 4 digit check would be nice! Man, you gotta get me in on this stuff!
  15. 6lbs, 9oz caught yesterday on a KVD bluegill swim jig with Rage Baby Craw trailer.

The Brush Hog is destined to become a classic, however it's the Rage Hawg for me. That's not my favorite creature bait, though, the Space Monkey is.
  17. I might take a vacation there in Dec. or Jan. Ask Big O about that question.
  18. I hope you all aren't putting your gear away yet just cuz it's a little chillier now! Some great fishing is going on right now, and it's only gonna get better in the next few weeks. Got out yesterday with Badcrawdad and his friend, and we got on quite a few, including a 5lber for Badcrawdad. At another place, my friend caught his new PB yesterday of 7lbs, plus a bunch of others. So, you guys should grab your rods, head to the water, and post some pics of some fall NH hawgs!
  19. Most sensitivity, plus add in super smooth and superior casting, means Samurai Braid. This stuff wipes the floor with Power Pro, period. To rig up a leader, just use a heavier flouro, and tie with a double uni knot. Or don't. I gave right up on leaders, since they don't get me more bites anyway, so now I tie direct, and don't have to worry about the whole extra knot going through my guides. I use Invisix on my Curado (12lb), and use it for Tx rigs and keel weighted baits mostly.
  20. Are you kidding? This bait is amazing. He probably has pictures from a year ago of a 10lb+ on it. It's a floating, indestructible Baby Craw or Chunk for a smaller jig. One of these rigs could last all year. That post right there is a gift!
  21. Wagn, it sorta has started. I've been finding fish chasing baits, like swim jigs, and faster moving/ hopping lures. Also, during the day, they are not necessarily tucked way out deep, they are all over from 1'-10' consistently. Haven't thrown a spinner in while, but I almost guarantee they will be working. Hope you get out soon, bro!
  22. Yeah, that's true. It is interesting. I'll tell you what, though. I tried Invisix at RW's suggestion (12lb on my Curado), and I love that for Tx. rigs. Then I also tried Yo Zuri ultra soft 10lb on my Spinning setup, and love that, too. I also am not really in love with braid, except I just started using Samurai 40lb on my Fuego, and the stuff is amazing! Now I'm gonna strip the 50lb PP from my frog setup, and replace it with 55lb Samurai. The stuff puts other braids to shame, and fishes like a dream. Great report on what you've been finding, RW, I'm sure you were very thorough in your testing, too.
