How to shoot yourself in the foot.
That reminds me that I have to check my battery fluid levels. Glad it worked out for you, it could have been worse. Man, I would have been so mad at myself, and would have found a way kick myself!

Revo S Spinning Reels
Nice!

Revo STX or Citica baitcasters
I have had both those reels, and I would say the STX is the way to go at that price.

Floating Horny Toad
Zoom plastics are very inconsistent, and you never know what you're gonna get. Almost every pack has at least one bait that's messed up somehow.

saturday 4 hours on the river
Sounds nice. Enjoy it while you can!

Anyone have any luck in SOUTHERN NH yet?
Yeah, Jay, that swim jig bite would have picked up for you in the afternoon warmth. Glad to hear you got on some!

Favorite new bait/technique so far in 2010
Keel-weighted Craws and Lobsters! Caught a ton of fish on that rig this year.

Nice rods. Congrats on the purchase, and glad you like it (just don't ever try a Cumara).

New Fishing spot produces...
That's always exciting finding a new spot that turns out to be a good spot. Nice day!

using soft plastics! help
I was thinking the same thing as mman16. 95% of the time I am using baitcasters, and 95% of that time, is with plastics, and have no problem. The only time I reach for the spinning setup, is when I am throwing real light plastics, or skipping under stuff.

Zoom Baby Brush Hogs ?
Shad master beat me to it. Try those little suckers on a c-rig! I used to use them a lot as flipping baits, but they are very versatile, and can be fished basically anywhere. You got a good color, too.

Tourny on lake flooded with Timber
I was gonna say jigs, too. Nice job on the 3rd place finish in tough conditions.

October smallies
Wow, great fish!

anyone tried Fly Fishing for Bass?
Never have, but I have a friend that swears it's the most fun you can have catching a bass. He uses mostly tiny poppers.

No Rain!
I went through the same scenario here, also. What I found to work, was to go small, go slow, and fish around deeper structure.

Looking for a new baitcaster for cranking - $200 -$250 Max
A Curado E5 would be nice on there. So would a Revo winch or STX. Good luck with the search.

Spinnerbait Tips
Just keep getting it wet. You will definitely catch bass on a spinnerbait! When I go to a spinnerbait now, I only use white, or a Bluegill pattern, and always use a trailer. These days, I use a swim jig in place of it 90% of the time, but the good old spinnerbait will usually put 'em in the boat. My best luck has been while slow rolling it along outside weed lines.

Something Weird Today
Nothing to do, really. Just shake your head, and wonder how some parents will teach and encourage their kids to do stuff like that. My guess is, is that the father has no respect for wildlife, or conservation, so why should the kid?
-
Fish Scale
I use the Econo Digi 44 lip grabber and have been real happy with it. It's been accurate to within an oz since I got it, and it really helps with controlling bass, or handling nasty toothy fish.

Anyone have any luck in SOUTHERN NH yet?
A 4 pounder from the shore at Turtle is pretty rare, with usually just a bunch of dinks and a guy with an annoying dog. Try putting your pictures onto Photobucket first, then copying the address and pasting it into your posts. Just size them down to med before posting, or they look huge.

Anyone have any luck in SOUTHERN NH yet?
Yeah, Jay, still on 'em. Got out in the gale force winds on Saturday, and only caught dinks, but got about 10 of them up shallow on anything weightless, but couldn't stay on my spots long enough or quiet enough to get any bigger ones. I think I'm gonna dunk the bass boat for some smallmouth action today on the Merrimack.
