Anti fishing
I would have stood between her and the water and blocked her sun. If I had caught a fish I would have aggressively yanked it out of the water and maybe giving her a bath in the process ( that is if could kick the crap out of her boyfriend)

Need some advice taking fishing photos
For posting pics on the internet you do not need a camera with a lot of mp. More mega pixels are for printing enlargements like 8x10 and larger, 12 mp great for posters. Most cameras today are just fine for internet posting.

Spinning or casting? What line rating? Clarus is a good bet. Actually an ugly stick for live/cut bait and saltwater is not a bad choice.

Best Braid and Best Leader for my Spinning equipment
As mentioned before I double the leader strength of my main line, a chain is as storing as it's weakest link, with no difference in lure action. Just this morning I had a stingray on with about 4-5 wingspan, big fish, 15# PP with a 30# mono leader, after a nice battle my palomar broke knot and I lost it, but the line and leader held just fine, I think that's enough strength for a bass. I caught it on a red tail hawk.

You bet power pro is strong
Hit the beach at daylight, not much going on, then we saw a ray swimming in the swash about 20' from shore, must have had a wing span 4-5'. I tossed a red tailed hawk about 6' in front and bam it was right on the jig. Fishing with a 7'6 Hurricane Redbone rod 10/20 and a stradic 4000 reel, loaded with 15# power pro this line held like a steel cable even with the drag batten down to the hilt. It was pulling in the Queen Mary, I was gaining nice ground only to have my palomar knot break off my swivel after a wonderful battle. I didn't want to unhook it and drag it back into the water anyway.

Need some advice taking fishing photos
I've yet to be impressed with any digital camera, right now I have a fuji fine pix s 7000 and a canon a 590is, ok for snapshots. When I want a quality picture I take out my 40 year old Nikon f1 or Canon FTB, match needle 35 MM with a host of interchangeable lenses, the depth control & stop action is amazing. I hate the pause on a digital, pressed shutter to actual snap of the picture. I can't speak to a slr digital, I don't have one.

FIN NOR Powerlite Custom - Legit or Fake!?!?!
I'd pay .99 for it........lol, that's a saltwater rod, be nice for drifting with a 5-6000 reel, a little heavy for my taste for casting, but doable. Never overly impressed with fin nor reels, despite some of the accolades.

Hit the window just right
Sometimes they flop pretty good, other times they just lay there. To photo them by a lip grab you only get their head in the photo, kinda useless. You could always set up a tripod but then you are restricted to one area. Are you a fisherman or photographer? When fishing those places you have to be prepared to walk 1/2 mile or more looking for bait or fish, this is really sight fishing to a small degree.

Labron to Miami
30 million dollars is a big deal to anyone on this forum but in the upper echelon of the sports world it isn't. By the time fed and state income taxes are figured in the top income bracket 30 mil difference shrinks up pretty good. The " 3 " have raised the bar pretty high for themselves by declaring to be the best "3" ever on a court at the same time. A lot of championships already won would argue with that statement and be able to prove it. They will be the laughing stock of the NBA if they fail to make the playoffs this year, let a lone a championship.

What is the WORST BAIT?
Lucky Craft lures are really nice looking but personally I've caught more on Bandit Cranks than L.C. ones. Both get the same amount of time but for some reason the Bandit ones just catch more for ME. Worst lure? Don't really have one. Since I got back into fishing, I mainly buy what guys here tell me work. I do this all the time, catch 1 fish and immediately change my lure, catch second a do it again until I go thru my small rotation of lures, I seldom carry more than 4 or 5, consisting of some kind of hard jerkbait, gold spoon, storm swimshad, rebel popper and flats jig, catch rate on each is pretty close. Keeps it more interesting for me.

Hit the window just right
Sometimes I put a small camera in my fanny pack, but hardly ever is anyone around to snap the photo anyway. Someone just happen to be walking by so I ran back to car to get my cell phone. Most of the guys just put a lure on the rod and go, needless to no scale or measures.

Hit the window just right
HAHA, have posted plenty of pics, seldom carry a camera along. Got another this morning about this size.

What is the WORST BAIT?
The worst.........simple any with a broken or missing hook. I have caught fish on every single lure I have purchased. It ain't the bow, it's the archer.

How do my old spinning reels compare to those of today?
I own a soron 40 and a cardinal 802 ( same as the soron 20 ) both reels are outstanding. I own a stradic 4000fi which is a great reel too. Just about any spinning reel over a $100 is going to serve you well. Presidents are a good value but the supreme is a better reel, I have 3, that said the supreme falls short of the soron. I purchased a daiwa tierra 3000 about 6 weeks ago and so far it's performing well.

Bought my daughter a $150 bracelet today
Times have really changed, 50 years ago I spent 5 days in the hospital, total bill $0.25, for my bracelet. Blue cross picked up the remaining tab.

UPS...when you need it in perfect condition
Been lucky with all shipments from fed ex, ups & usps, but usps ticked me off. My daughter mailed a kindle to my wife, too big for mailbox, the mailman was lazy and didn't bring it to the door, just left it on top of the mailbox streetside, could have easily been stolen.

Two largemouths together on one lure!!! How often does this happen???
I have caught 2 on a lure before both fresh and salt. Try a drop fly rig and very possible 2 catch 2 on the same rod, 2 baits. Lat year in the ocean I get a bonita strike, split second later my buddy gets one as well, we both pull in the same fish on separate rods, only time that has happened to me.

Storm Wildeye Swim Shad question
I use them almost every day. I use 1/4-1/2 and 7/8 size depending on which rod I'm fishing with. Storms are my go to snook and tarpon lures and really produce, very very slow retrieve and let the current do most of the work. I leave the bait on the rod and use the same ones on my way home for bass fishing, equally as effective. I get the same production regardless of color or whether they swim straight or not, excellent bait.

Braided line and heat
I never use backing, tape and spool with braid all the way, freshwater reels don't have that much line capacity anyway. When I need line I just add what I need with new braid, I use this practice in all fishing environments.
-
best braid
There is no best braid, all a matter of preference. I mostly use use PP 10-15- or 20#, few windknots, no digging in problem and casts just fine. I target "other species " fish which will test your line.

Hit the window just right
It doesn't happen that often down here, except during the fall mullet run when the blues, jacks and ladyfish are in.

Any union guys?
Not here to argue the pros and cons of unions, it's also a matter of geography, some states are right to work and non union areas. As a business owner I gave the same basic benefits and hourly wage as unions. I'm from Detroit, union country, and had lots of friends in them and my observation over the last 40 years or so this is what I would do. I have friends now retired, in both plumbing and electrical unions. Very good benefits and the hourly wage was good plus retirement pension 60-80k a year, don't know the exact number. The upside in these 2 trades is that it is easy to go into business for yourself ( remain in the union). One of my buds did just that and does little commercial work, mostly does handyman type work for residential, I know for a fact that he is a very solid 6 figure a year man, never a layoff and always busy. I have a an electrician that does handyman type work down here in Florida, non union, works out of a van and lives in a $500,000 home and is always busy, many plumbers have the same story. Whether it's union or not, you have to think out of the box and control your own destiny, some of the trades are a great starting point.

Experimenting With Braided Line
Only fished the west coast once, 35 years ago on drift boat out of Santa Monica, so I haven't a clue on how people do things out there. Much of what I do in saltwater came out of what I thought to be common sense. The better saltwater angler I become the better my freshwater goes. 60 years of fishing has proved 1 thing to me.......fish are fish wherever they may be. As this thread is regarding braid another thing I do for saltwater spooling is too never tie always tape. Never know what's hitting the other end of the line, hooking a tarpon 100+ or other large fish happens and you are just not going to bring it in with light tackle. I'd rather lose all my line and lure than do any damage to my reel. I didn't make this up, advice from a guide.

Carbontex Drag Study
Yellowtail snapper, we have them here too. My Avet reel is 2 years old, didn't have the first cleaning until it was a year, probably ready for a second one. I take them in, my local tackle shop sells and services them. Personally I have no interest in being my own reel mechanic, I applaud the people that have the interest and more mechanically minded than me.

Got some fireline 20% off.
I only use braid, generally PP but not married to any of them, I go for the price and have no trouble with any of them.
