The only time I get to fish for smallmouth around here I am wade fishing our small rivers. I've got one place I go to that we catch close to 100 smallmouth each time out (mostly 6-10" fish though). I'm a diehard Zoom Fluke fisherman and the Superfluke Junior seems to be the ticket for me on the rivers. Not only is it catching the small ones but we usually have a half dozen or so 3+ pounders on each of these trips.

Got mine today too! I've made one heck of a list so far.

No dogs but I've had mine done. lol No pictures of that though.

I herniated disc L5 several years ago and it still flairs up once in a while. Use ice right on the spine. If the pain goes away it's probably sciatica which means the disk is pinching on your sciatic nerve. Not much you can do other than taking care of it. A chiropractor works for me but may not work for the next person. Like I said, just take care of it. Believe me, you don't want it to go out on you. Life sucks when that happens.

I never even thought about chartreuse. Maybe I can talk her into dipping her fingers into a bottle of chartreuse spike it! ;D

Most people don't realize it but we have some of the best fishing in the country right here in Va. Buggs Island is absolutely loaded with 3-5lb bass. We have a small (900) acre lake called Briery Creek that produces MANY bass over 10lbs every spring. It's nothing but standing timber but it's full of hawgs! Honestly though, there's a million places to hit in the southeast in March that would make your trip worthwhile.

I work for the public school system in our county so my hours are a set 40. I've got an interview Monday for what I really want to do and that is work in the Regional Jail. Both jobs will always be around so luckily I don't have to worry about layoffs and such.

I know it's too late but Dukes Creek across from Dike 1/2 is great for me this time of year. On the right hand side heading in the cove looks like nothing but a slow turning bank. About 50-75 yards off the bank is a dropoff that will net some decent bass this time of year. There is some chunk rock on it with the occasional twig that will hold bass. Good luck!

^^^Bingo! That's what I plan on doing to one of my places starting in late January. I caught a 7-8 there last year but I know of one caught and released there last year over 10lbs! My turn!

Great thread! My 3y/o is asking me what I'm laughing at! I vote for the corn snake. I love snakes but I figure the money for the divorce wouldn't make it worthwhile for me to have one.

Got it on dvd and I've probably watched it 100x. One of the best movies ever.

Honestly, I've never had much in the way of luck there. I don't honestly know of too many places on this side of the blue ridge to fish other than some local ponds I have access to.

I have made enough hints that Santa should be leaving one under the tree this year. BTW, I hooked but lost the biggest bass of my life on one of these just a few weeks ago.

Another vote here for the Smithwick Rattling Rogue! I use both floating and suspending models. One of my favorite colors is black back, gold sides and silver belly. The largemouth tear it up in the spring.

No can do. I just had surgery yesterday so I'm gonna be kicked back here at home for a while.

And to think it was in the 60's here in the mountains of Va yesterday. Calling for heavy rain today and snow showers tonight though.

Finally, some good news to report.

Sweet! I wanted to catch one of their games this year and never had the opportunity. I'll definately watch this one on tv! It's just good to see a local college go as far as they have.

I don't have the best performing computer on earth and I can really appreciate the speed each page loads now. I'm really beginning to like this place. I've been on several sites and this one has impressed me much more than any of the others.
