  1. If the fish are way out there, why do most bass boat fishermen cast towards the shore?
  2. Get yourself some Rocket Bobbers. They cast far and when it's calm, the kids will see every bite easily.
  3. My brother loves it. My mom usually helps him with the kids but she has fallen sick recently. She was upset she couldn't make it this year.
  4. I have a single 8ft Talon on a 20ft boat. I would say it's ideal 80% of the time. There are times when 2 would be nice, but I have learned to use the trolling motor to make up for any inadequacies.
  5. My brother drives OTR and participates in something similar every year. He also does a "trucker buddy" program with the school districts. Kind of a pen pal deal where the kids write letters and do a Q&A. It helps break up the monotony of being on the road.
  6. Friends of yours?
  7. I just bought a new fishing shirt...more to follow.....

I own 4 Rugers. Quality firearm.
  9. The restaurant/bar is now someones home.
  10. Its 20. And they opened the channel a few years back.
  11. Eagles are cool to watch. They would rather scavenge than hunt.
  12. Fished West Loon today from 6 to noon. Water is high, 55*, under a no wake restriction, and the launch pier was under water which made for an interesting launch. We were the first boat to launch and we fished near the ramp while waiting for my dad to show up. Caught 1 bass and 2 snot rockets in the interim. Watched the first boat after us struggle. Was a kid and his dad. Boat got turned around sideways. They eventually got out and puttered across the lake. My dad showed up and we had to figure the best way to get him in the boat because there is no way he could have climbed in had I beached it. He was able to hold onto a tree and climb onto the bow via a rotted wood seawall. The seawall had rebar sticking out of it so my son and I had to hold the boat close enough for dad to get in and far enough so the boat wouldn't get damaged. Next boat is launching and I turn around to see the boat that puttered across the lake had puttered back. Water is pouring out of the bilge. I assume they left the drain plug out. We got to fishing. It was fast action and then nothing for long periods, and fast action, and nothing.... Jerkbaits and swimjigs caught all but 3 fish. Ended up with 7 largemouth and 10 pike.
  13. Another vote for Endurance. Put 4 on my trailer 2 years ago. So far I'm impressed.
  14. My mom has a refrigerator magnet that says Give a man a fish, he eats for a day. Teach a man to fish, he gets out of the house for the weekend.
  15. The motor is 6 years old so it's prior to lift assist. I don't know how lift assist works, so I can't answer specifically. This is pretty much how I did it.
  16. It's a check valve. Allows water to flow in only one direction. Where is the bilge pump outlet? It should be above the waterline.
  17. Mom is 79 and the tests show she has lymphoma. She has 4 cat scans scheduled for Monday. Life's a *****
  18. Forgot to mention. Saw a couple bald eagles today. There used to be some resident eagles that disappeared years ago. Maybe they are back.
  19. Good or not good.? Not sure how to respond.

That and .....Percosets I ate PB&J sandwiches every day for lunch throughout grade school. I could eat them every day of my life until the day I die. You got a problem with that? My choice is Peter Pan creamy peanut butter and strawberry preserves
  22. Not to take away from the OP. My mom had a procedure and they drained 1 liter of fluid from around her heart. It went well. She spent a day in ICU and was supposed to get discharged today. Not happening
  23. The Fox Chain was a desert this morning. 1 bass in 6 hours. water temp 50* and the entire system appears to have an algae bloom. It has to be from runoff. There are barely any weeds as of yet, and the water is almost glow in the dark green. We packed up at 11, but some buddies packed up even earlier with not one bite.
  24. You better hope you didn't damage anything running 160psi of water thru it.
  25. Last fall i watched a bass eat a funnel cake. I'm not totally sure why the funnel cake was swimming in water rather than hot oil. Interesting nonetheless.
