A buddy who was ice fishing texted me yesterday. Said that's it for the ice. My prediction in @A-Jay ice out thread has this weekend as my on the water date. I'm still optimistic.

I've had a jump box in the boat for 6 years. Charge it up once a year at the beginning of the season. It has never been used. Is it still good?

First you need to be legal. See what your local governing body requires. If the Coast Guard polices your waters, their requirements may be more or less than your local DNR. Bare bones will require a fire extinguisher if you have a gas motor, battery terminals need to be covered, a PFD for every person on board, a throwable, and a horn either air or electric. A first aid kit. If you are on the water at night, navigation and anchor lights are required. An anchor may or may not be required by your governing body as well as flares. Once you get the legal stuff covered, in addition to what was mentioned above, I'd add a jump box in case the battery dies and a wind proof lighter.

The seat shock absorption is nothing new. Just new for bass boats.

I don't know that it's the round. The gun is a Springfield XD sub compact. It works flawlessly, and I have to believe it's something I'm missing OR it's just too small for my ape hands. I got the extended mags because the mags that came with it weren't comfortable. I have a Ruger P95 9mm that I absolutely love. It's a large framed gun that just feels right in my hands and I shoot well with it. Is it too large to conceal easily??? I don't know. Back to the point and shoot vs aim and shoot I brought up earlier. In a self defense scenario, I need to hit the threat, I don't need to worry about my groupings. During the point and shoot exercises with the pistol laser pointer, I was on or close to the bullseye 90% of the time.

I just left cabelas. The state of IL, in their infinite wisdom has decided to upgrade the printers. Only problem is they aren't working. Cabelas said they got the new printers 3 weeks ago and haven't been able to sell a single fishing license.

I brought a .40 to the range. Also happens to be a gun I really don't shoot well with. I don't know why, I just can't get the feel for it. Back to the whole self defense thing, I shot fine with it. All 30 rounds required by the state were within the required boundaries of the target. Point and shoot is completely different than aim and shoot. The .40 is uncomfortable to carry, at least with the current holster. BUT it is probably the best option I currently own. Now begins the next journey. Finding a gun/holster combo that works for me.

Lowe did the tin hull with a fiberglass top cap on a crossover ski and deck boat. It failed miserably.

I saw the 18 and 19ft Vexus tins back in January. Absolutely beautiful lines. Well thought out floor plan. Very sharp looking rig. But, as every other non Lund, the boats are minuscule in comparison. It's a bass boat. No more, no less. It's a modified V with smooth lines. Were I in the market for a tin bass boat today and was going to fish on small to medium sized land locked water, I'd just might get one. It's better looking and better thought out than the Ranger RT and Tracker bass boats. The best looking boat will eventually be dated. The best looking car will eventually be dated. The best looking broad will eventually be dated. Superior function will be around long after the beauty fades.

My honest opinion is you'd be settling if you downgraded to a Vexus, not that you're looking. While I'm intrigued by their styling, I'm all about function for me. Lund may not be the prettiest, but it will outlast the competition...or lack there of ?

Their marketing strategy is interesting and the fact they've kept everything under wraps, makes it even more desirable. The tin models are a nice looking rig, but there are not many reviews. I'm guessing they haven't sold a ton. While appearance tends to sell vehicles, I'm interested to see if there is anything innovative with function and performance.

The V2 pedal is garbage. I suggest either keeping the motor and upgrade to the Ipilot hand control or just sell the V2 and buy what you want
