  1. Had one on my last boat. It never left the garage. I'd say pass unless you plan on just cruising around without fishing.
  2. How will it be 2nd or 3rd week of April? At the rate were going...frozen.
  3. Again, it really depends on the dealership. If they are a high volume dealer, they can buy boats cheaper from the manufacturer. I bought my boat new in 2013 from a high volume Lund dealer. My final price was approx 17% below the online boat builder. I contacted 4 dealerships within 100 miles. 2 lower volume dealers dropped out right away because they couldn't/wouldn't negotiate against the other 2 high volume dealers. One of which had the boat on their showroom floor, and the other would have had to order it with a 12-16 week build time. The dealer that already had the boat was slightly lower than the one that would have had to order it and he offered to sell my other boat without charging me a commission. I went with him. You may be able to get the dealer to throw in some spiffs like a free boat winterization or installing your graphs for free, or a discount on an extended warranty.
  4. Transducer ok to run out of the water, trolling motor not ok.
  5. If you are ordering the boat it's going to be difficult to negotiate. If you are buying off the showroom floor, you have a better chance of cutting a deal. Higher volume dealers get better pricing from the manufacturers. I'd find 2 or 3 dealers and pit them against each other. As far as the electronics and trolling motor, you may be able to get better pricing online rather than the dealer. I'm guessing you meant Bimini, not bikini. A Bimini top will more than likely be less expensive from the dealer than buying a custom one. I know there are generics out there but they may or may not fit well.
  6. He still has 2 more weeks to prove the prediction.
  7. Make sure the transducer doesn't sit below the sponsons or you're going to be buying new transducers when you knock them off
  8. Congrats. Don't forget to post pics
  9. Before you spend the money, look into you local boating laws about the use of spotlights for navigation. A fixed light may not be legal.
  10. What do you think? I think it's a butchered attempt at a Buck Perry theory but....
  11. Cold for another 10 days as of today's forecast with snow tomorrow and possibly another snow storm I'll send your way on Friday/Saturday
  12. I think you are close. I'm no electronics expert. Based on the info you provided, I believe you should have a 120* beam from the center point of your transducer. (180*-60* thirty for each side) The beam should miss your sponsons.
  13. Take a fillet off a 14-16" bass, cut it into scallop sized chunks, wrap in bacon, put on skewers and throw them on the grill over indirect heat. Enjoy.
  14. If you believe it to be a fair deal, then go for it. The dealer can give you a printout from the motors computer that will alert you if there were any alarms during the 10 hours of use. There is nothing wrong with Evinrude motors. Make sure you're getting a fresh set of batteries from them.
  15. My home water has a 6 bass limit, my home state has a 5 bass limit unless otherwise noted. This is why checking your regulations is important. Top of the food chain predators eat what they want. Humans are at the top, most of the time. I eat what I choose and do my best to not be eaten. That is how it's supposed to be.
  16. New line on the BC's today. Still have to do the spinning reels
  17. That's called a livewell full of brown trout.... 3 or 5 gallon bucket with a pool noodle on the rim for comfort. You can line it with a 13 gallon garbage bag.
  18. Charging the batteries immediately after they are discharged should be your first priority. Charging them at the highest amp you can should be your second priority. There is nothing wrong with a trickle charger but there are better options.
  19. Yes and IBTL
  20. Rained all day yesterday. Winds have been 30-40 all day with 50 gusts. Was 33* when I woke up and steadily dropping. Going to be single digits tomorrow am.
  21. Hitting this side of the pond first.
  22. Tracker and nitro are fixed pricing. Unless the ranger you are looking at has been advertised as "national pricing" There is room for negotiation.
  23. Have you tried to negotiate pricing with the Ranger dealer
  24. Going to be in the single digits for the Braidwood opener. Think I'll pass
