  1. More pellet grill porn Beef jerky just went on.
  2. Ain't that the truth Nice bull gill
  3. Hit the Fox Chain yesterday with my dad. 35* and 15mph winds made main lake fishing miserable. Water temps from 42* to 47* I was ready to call it a day at 10am with only 1 crappie in the livewell. Dad wanted to fish the channel near the ramp. We spent the next 4 hours there fishing a 50ftx50ft area. Took home 6 crappies and a keeper bass, but caught 10 crappies, a dozen bass, a dozen perch, and 100 small gills.
  4. Really liking this pellet grill.
  5. Goodyear Marathons have not been made for about 3 years. If you find any, they are old stock. Goodyear Endurance are the replacements. I have 4 of them on my trailer for 2 years. I like them better than the Marathons they replaced.
  6. I work (5) 10's. That's enough for my old ass.
  7. No luck last weekend. Was my second time out for the year. I should be out again this weekend. My kid caught a small keeper from a subdivision pond Sunday.
  8. Only you will know what's best for you. In general, a longer boat will give you a better ride, and a 'glass boat will give you a better ride. There are exceptions, as @A-Jay mentioned above. I'm biased as well. Lund is arguably the "Cadillac" of aluminum boats. There hull design excels in both performance and safety. Their storage/layout uses every bit of available space and are extremely well thought out. The boats can be ordered with Mercury, Honda, or without a motor, just in case you want a Yammie or ERude. Lund's are not speed demons but will perform well as far as holeshot and almost instant getting on plane. There is very little rocking when people move around inside the boat. Lund demands premium prices both new and used and will depreciate much slower than other brands. Anyway, good luck with your search.
  9. The starter connections would be under the engine cowl. Exactly where on your motor, I don't know. You would need to look at a service manual.
  10. Check and clean battery terminals and ring connectors. You can use sand paper or a wire brush. Also check the connections at the ignition switch, kill switch, and starter and make sure they are not loose.
  11. It's much cheaper to buy fish at the grocery store.
  12. Put her to work this weekend. Did ribeye and chicken yesterday and ribs today.
  13. If it makes you feel any better, I will be fishing tomorrow and Sunday. Second time out and first time on my home water. Water levels have dropped from all the snow melt and the river system is now fully open.
  14. New pellet grill/smoker
  15. @A-Jay Forecast on the west side of the big pond has the potential for a major snow event 4/11-4/12. Don't shoot the messenger ?
  16. Drain the water from the motor, drain the livewell, and leave the lids cracked. Nothing is more frustrating than finding out, after you're on the water that the lids are frozen shut.
  17. Very nice Lund
  18. Have to wait until after next Monday. Cubs home opener. It has snowed on more than one occasion. Rain is scheduled as of right now...
  19. @jaimeastin If my calculations are correct, you have about as much money invested in upgrades as you have in the cost of the boat. Not that this is bad or anything. I just wonder why didn't just didn't get a $20k boat. Could have got a heck of a used rig for that kind of money. Either way, props to you on the dedication and work to make the rig yours.
  20. This will be your maiden voyage, right? Hope the rig runs like a top. I'm fishing for crappie on Saturday and bass on Sunday. Was in the 20's this past weekend and will be in the 60's this coming weekend. WooHoo!
  21. If you spend you're life worrying about what others think of you you will never truly be yourself, you will never truly be happy, and you will never truly be free. #thankyousocialmedia
  22. There is no "as usual" with mounting an external transducer on an electric steer motor. It can be done. The issue has to do with the mechanism that causes the motor to turn, and how/where to run the cable. I have a Humminbird SI transducer on my Terrova. The cable runs down a center track in the shaft. Lowrance cables are too large of a diameter and would need to be run with some modifications. I can't answer the question about Garmin as I don't know if the cable will fit in the track or not.
