  1. Here's a guy that couldn't cope http://www.news-journalonline.com/breakingnews/2012/07/deltona-man-holds-air-conditioner-repairman-at-gunpoint-sheriffs-office-says.html
  2. Sucks to be you
  3. I smoked the 50 amp circuit breaker, male and female plug receptacles and melted some wiring yesterday. Don't know if the motor took a crap yet but I'm hoping for the best. I picked up all the replacement parts today but was wondering, Would I be better off hard wiring the motor rather than using the plug? Does anyone make a marine grade toggle switch that will take that kind of amperage? I was thinking of wiring it thru a toggle switch to de-energize the motor while the batteries are charging. Or stick with the plug? Thanks

Minus the coke and pain meds and whiskey don't mix. I learned the hard way.
  5. I'm the guy stuck listening to all you people whine. "I'm too hot...I'm to cold..." I was in a commercial kitchen last thursday that was 112 degrees. It was down to 91 before I left and almost felt refreshing. Long Mike, A word of advice. Many residential companies pay their guys comission based and they'll try and sell you everything. If you can, I'd recommend getting more than 1 estimate. Also look for a comapny that has been in business for awhile. Sent you a PM
  6. Make the kids kneel in the corner on uncooked rice. They'll remember that for sure.
  7. I believe they(women) lose their minds at birth. Yours must be a little slower than most.
  8. After thinking about it, I will definately hire an attorney to check things out.
  9. We have other guys who have their own contracts. I'm not worried being labeled a troublemaker. In my industry, good techs are a dying breed, and being in commercial/industrial refrigeration, there are even less of us. I've never been unemployed and have enough contacts in the industry, that unemployment should, knock on wood, never be an issue. I spoke with my service manager today and accepted their counter offer. I said "Can I get it in writing?" and his response was "I'd thought you'd say that."
  10. Wonder if alcohol was involved. We had 2 incidents locally this past weekend. During a tourney, a guy flipped a brand spankin new 60k Ranger on my home lake in an area called the washtub. A stretch of river abut 150 yards wide with tons of boat traffic and no speed limit. The water hits the seawalls and bounces back and forth causing waves hitting you from 360 degrees. Another incident on Lake Michigan, a 47 foot yacht hit a breakwall (cement and stone walls used to prevent wave from crashing on the shore) causing a coast guard rescue and the captain was cited with DUI. http://www.wgntv.com/news/wgntv-7-rescued-after-boat-hits-breakwall-near-calumet-beach-20120625,0,2064637.story
  11. Dain brammage?
  12. My father told me I was lucky because his father didn't use a belt. He used a razor strap. My grandmother used to tell us that my mother and father didn't beat us near enough. She would throw shoes at us from across the room.
  13. I don't think the company is going anywhere. My department(refrigeration) has shrunk over the last few years but the hvac and construction sides are doing well. I was told they would move me to hvac if they needed to. The company I was hired at, has been growing leaps and bounds over the last 6 years. My current employer leaves me alone. I do my work and no one bothers me. The new company has quite a following in the industry that they treat their employees well. Up until today I was sure I was leaving. If I can get what I want, I'm going to stay.
  14. Here's the story, Work has been slow. I applied for a job at another shop (hvac/r)where my buddy works. He has a steady 45-50hrs a week, with some guys working close to 60hrs a week. I was offered the job but at a decreased salary( I get paid $4 an hour over scale now. The decreased salary but additional hours will be more than I'm making now)and was told by the owner I'd have to "prove" myself to make over scale. I gave notice, and my current shop offered me a guaranteed 40 + OT until the first of the year and gave me the weekend to think about it. Talked to my manager yesterday and told him I was still leaving. During this conversation one of the owners came in the office and said they finally got a commitment for 16 additional restaurants. Afterwards, my manager more or less begged me to stay and said "Take another day to think about it." I have a meeting with him in the morning in which I'm going to ask for additional hourly rate, another week of vacation, and to extend the guaranteed 40 for a total of 12 months. If they don't take the offer, I'm leaving. If they do take the offer , I have 2 questions. 1. Does this contract need to be written up by someone special ie. a lawyer, or can myself and my service manager work it all out, sign and notarize it. I refuse to make a handshake agreement. 2. If I opt to move on to the new company, is it within my rights(don't know if that's the right word) to request some type of compensation contract. "Proving" myself is vague. Can/should I get everything in writing before making the move? They told me there's plenty of work, and my buddy agrees. I am in a union and they cannot pay me less than scale, but are not obligated to pay me more. I'm concerned at how long I will need to prove myself. All my bene's are thru the union so that is not an issue. I have never been in this type of situation/negociation before and want to cover my @$$.
  15. A poor attempt to poke fun at long mike I should lay off the Makers Mark

SHOW ME THE MONEY!!! Been in the 90's the last couple weeks and supposed to get to 100 by thursday. I haven't been fishing much but hvac/r is my trade and I love this weather. Cha ching!
  17. And all this time I thought you were a man
  18. Kids are still going to be kids. Without some type of discipline, they will only get worse. Did you hear about those kids that posted the video making fun of their 68yo bus monitor? Disgraceful to say the least. I was no angel growing up and got the belt plenty. If it taught me nothing else, it did teach me to respect people. I'm not advocating the belt and never hit my son with a belt. But, a little discipline when they're young will make life a whole lot easier for them as they get older.
  19. My son is 22, so I haven't spanked him in a year or two LOL. I still remember he was 3 or so. We were at the grocery store and he was getting out of line. I gave him a look and he started yelling "Don't crack me dad, don't crack me." Spanking is spanking and not abuse. Take a look at the youth of today and tell me if you think they should have been spanked as they were growing up.
  20. I have caught fish all day long this spring/summer and it has been unusually warm this year. The morning bite has been on moving baits and the late morning/afternoon bite has been finesse fishing. Fish have also been predictable, meaning they are located where they are supposed to be. My advice to you is to learn your water. Where are the fish supposed to be? During the summer a bass will use most anything for cover. A dock, a lily pad, a Jagermeister bottle(true story), a slight change in depth, or deep drops and thick slop. Learn the water you fish. Then learn it again next year and so on. Fish are predicitable.
  21. They have a 2 year warranty
  22. I've been mulling around a new(er) boat purchase for a couple years now. My current fishnski boat was fine when I bought it but stupid me got into tourney fishing. Either I have too much stuff or not enough room. I'm voting for not enough room. Work/economy has prevented me from pulling the trigger on another boat. I'm no longer waiting for things to get better and put in my notice yesterday. The company I currently work for has been on the steady decline for the last 4 years. I was hired by a company which has been steadily growing for the las 6 years with no end in sight. 2013-The year of the boat lol.
