Why Bass Fishing
It doesn't involve trolling. Trolling, to me is quite boring. Finding the fish and patterns are somewhat the same, but the fish. hooking itself, takes much of the fun out of it. I like casting for fish and bass seem the most plentiful. I catch plenty of other species while bass fishing, and enjoy the fight of all the fish. I'm quite good at identifying the fish from the fight it puts up. I will say this. If I could cast for king salmon year round, I'd never fish for bass again.

Jokes - Let's Have Some Fun
The doctor told a man that masturbating before sex, often helped men last longer during the act. The man decided, "What the heck, I'll try it." He spent the rest of the day thinking about where to do it. He couldn't do it in his office. He thought about the restroom, but that was too open. He considered an alley, but figured that was too unsafe. Finally, he realized his solution. On the way home from work, he pulled his service truck over on the side of the highway. He got out and crawled underneath as if examining the truck. Satisfied with the privacy, he undid his pants and started to masturbate, he closed his eyes and thought of his lover. As he grew closer to orgasm, he felt a quick tug at his pant leg. Not wanting to lose his mental fantasy or the orgasm, he kept his eyes shut and replied, "What?" He heard , "This is the police. What in the hell are you doing?" The man replied, "I'm checking out the rear axle, it's busted." The cop says, "Well, you better check your brakes too, because your truck rolled down the hill 5 minutes ago.."

Why Not Store Soft Plastics Out Of Their Bag?
I go both ways If it's something I stock up on I keep them in the packages and put multiple packs in a ziplock bag. If it's stuff I don't use often and only have a handful, but feel the need to have it on the boat...cause...well...you never know. it goes in a box.

Jokes - Let's Have Some Fun
A woman takes her dog to the vet for his check-up. During the visit she mentions that he's getting older and seems to be having trouble hearing her when she calls him. The vet does his exam and then carefully trims away a large amount of hair that is blocking the dog's ears. "Ma'am, it's just that he has exceptionally furry ears and you'll need to keep them cleared so he can hear. I recommend that you go to the drug store and pick up some hair-removal cream, rub it on his ears every week or two and that should take care of it." So on the way home she stops at the drug store and grabs a jar of hair remover. At the check-out counter, the druggist says, "If you use this on your legs, I would recommend a good moisturizing lotion and don't wear long pants for a few days." "Oh," she says, "I'm not using it on my legs" "Well in that case, you should not use any deodorant under your arms for a couple of days afterward." "I'm not using it on my under-arms either" she says, "I'm putting it on my schnauzer" "Ah!" says the clerk,"then I would recommend you stay off the exercise bike for at least a week."

A Little Potty Humor For Ya
Two medical students were walking along the street when they saw an old man walking with his legs spread apart.. He was stiff-legged and walking slowly. One student said to his friend: "I'm sure that poor old man has Peltry Syndrome. Those people walk just like that." The other student says: "No, I don't think so. The old man surely has Zovitzki Syndrome. He walks slowly and his legs are apart just as we learned in class." Since they couldn't agree they decided to ask the old man. They approached him and one of the students said to him: "We're medical students and couldn't help but notice the way you walk, but we couldn't agree on the syndrome you might have. Could you tell us what it is". The old man said, "I'll tell you, but first you tell me what you two fine medical students think." The first student said, "I think it's Peltry Syndrome." The old man said, "You thought....... But you are wrong." The other student said, "I think you have Zovitzki Syndrome." The old man said, "You thought....... But you are wrong." So they asked him, "Well, old timer, what do you have?" The old man said, "I thought it was a fart......................But I wa swrong, too!"

Sad
Another difference is a trophy bass is just that. A trophy. Most sportsman realize the value of the fish either to the lake or to the sport. You may keep one to hang on the wall. Let's call this guy a sportsman for arguments sake. Why harvest a limit of trophies for food, or bragging rights? As a deer hunter. If you had 3 tags to fill. You shoot a real trophy buck to fill the first tag. You see a couple other nice bucks the rest of the trip. Would you shoot them for meat or come back next year in hopes to get your next trophy. I think most hunters(at least the ones I know) would let the other large bucks walk and shoot a button buck for meat. I harvest bass to eat. 14"ers not trophies. If they were harvested legally so be it. My opinion is the guy is still a moron.

Fish Movement After Being Released At Weigh In
How long do bass stick around the ramp after being released after a tourney? I have a tourney on the 20th. There is a different clubs tourney on the 19th. I would lose 2-3 hours in fishing time making the run roundtrip. Working on putting together a game plan and wondering if it would be worth the run.

How Would You Improve Fishing Shows??
Bass Dude, I think the problem with your theory is most average anglers want to see guys catch big fish. I also think thry would be alienating a huge part of the audience. I would guess the majority of the audience do not have boats to fish out of. If you spend 15 minutes teaching the viewers to find the spot on the spot with your electronics, and 5 minutes catching those fish(10 minutes for commercials ), those viewers will surely tune into another program that adds entertainment value. I also like the local lake concept. We have a couple local shows in northern IL and southern WI that do just that. One is a multi species show with a new episode every week. The entire show is a "Promote the sponser" plug. The second one is a bass fishing show, but all the guy fishes with is senkos and spinnerbaits. He catches average sized bass which makes me depressed I would like to see Jimmy Houston give a largemouth bass a tongue bath like Joe Bucher's dog gives to a smallmouth.(FYI Joe Bucher is a smallmouth and musky fisherman from up north. His dog slobbers all over every bass he brings into the boat)

Have You Ever Iaconelli'd It?
Heard you all the way up here in Chicago, Brandon I never have, but my son does on occasion. Today was one of those occasions. It really ruins the "zone". We should have weighed a limit and been in the money, but due to operator error on his and my parts, we brought one fish to the scale. We changed our gameplan on a whim at 8am and went for a long run, locking thru the river, which basicaly took away 2 hours of fishing time. We found a 50 yard stretch of rip rap that had fish. Had 10 bites in a half hour landing (1) 3.5lbr(shoulda landed all 10). Went to another spot to let the rip rap fish settle down, with plans to return later. Torrential downpour with nasty lightning rolls in and we take cover under a bridge.for an hour until the lightning subsides. Well, my son is in a crappy mood because we missed 9 bites and he is deathly afraid of being on the water with lightning. Rain subsides a little but it's time to head back up thru the locks. We hit one more spot before we head in to weigh in. He hooks a 4lbr and while trying to flip it into the boat instead of letting me net it...well, you know what happened. Iconelli' moment.

Skinny/narrow Tie
The skinny ties that were popular in the 80's are back in again. Slip on a pair of parachute pants and you should be good to go.
