  1. Nice Chris! I was 5'9 270 back in august and started eating right and working out a lot. and right now Im at 234. If I wasn't working out I probably would be less but did put on a good bit of muscle. I slacked off in december and early january though due to christmas and new years parties. Im back on track though! Fishing get's me a lot of exercise since Im mainly a bank and kayak fisher. I go kayaking, Im out for 5-6 hours. Really feel it in your arms afterwards haha.
  2. Ya dude, That would be sweet! I live on the North channel which is one of a few that branches of the St. Clair river that connects lake Huron to St. Clair. Moved there two years ago. To be honest I haven't fished as well as I should have. I only have a pontoon boat with a 50hp motor so it's difficult to go very far, and having to pull up and drop the anchor continuously gets tiresome. I found a nice online map though and have jotted down a couple of spots i want to try this year. Here is the map, it's pretty neat: http://marinecruiser.com/chart.html
  3. Actually, We haven't gotten any substantial snow yet In southeast Michigan, The up and eastern have been getting a lot though. biggest snowfall was about 4 inches and nothing has come close yet. Were supposed to get 5-7inches earlier this week but nothin. Sort of dissapointed in this winter. Everything just looks soggy and like crap.
  4. Michigan's will be broken as soon as the season starts and I can go fishing
  5. Alright, I'll be arriving on the 20th possibly around 7pm (or 12pm depending if I want to split the drive into two days), and staying till the 27th. Mike, you should be getting my registration soon, put it in the mail the other day. Only thing left now is to get a rent-a-car because I do not trust my car's trans on a 1,400 mile trip!
  6. Lol, ya my ma wouldn't be very enthusiastic about that. Im not a military guy and have never thought about it to be honest. I wouldn't be interested in joining the infantry but CE seems like something that I could get into. I do not know anything about the military so bear with me haha. Would I be going over to places like iraq with this job, building stuff there. And am I going to be getting shot at?
  7. That is also what my teacher said to me haha, to look in areas other than Michigan. I do not mind moving for work. Nothing in michigan is really keeping me from moving. He has also suggested going to places that had just been hit with natural disasters that need help with rebuilding. Carpentry is what I really want to do, also electrical and welding seem pretty sweet too. I've heard of civil engineering but will have to do some research on it to get a better understanding. Industrial sounds like it would be right up my alley haha. Big tools, bit of danger, and highest pay. I'll have to look into that some more. Is there any part of the country that would be better suited for this kind of work? Im willing to move, for work. Shoot, if I can move somewhere that I can fish all year long, that would be sweet.
  8. I say, Mike Rowed for president! But on another, I graduated highschool last year and decided to take a year off and just work, save up some money and figure out what I want to do. I dont feel like college is right for me. I took a constructions class where the class actually built a house from the foundation up. I thought it was actually fun. I liked working with my hands. My teacher told me the same thing mike rowe was saying. That skilled trades were being looked down on and most of the skilled labor force was getting old. I definitley want to get into a skilled trade, a desk job is not for me. Just not so sure about living in michigan.
  9. I would say the 18 inch chain escalated the problem haha. Anyways for me, it's when guys wear skinny jeans.
  10. I use them for mainly rage products. Rage craws, anacondas, space monkeys, eeliminator, and flukes when I need some depth. A rage craw plus a 1/8oz keel weighted hook was on of my best lures last season. Could swim it on top of the water like a buzz bait and could also fish it like a texas rig. I like using them with just because it is easy to change real quick, with a 1/8oz keel weighted hook I can cover about anything. Plus I think it looks more natural when using a craw falling more horizontally than straight up and down.
  11. Wow, I didn't know bass could look like that. Last year I was fishing behind a convenience store down the street from me (had a canal in the back of it). My mom stopped by before she went off to do some errands and said she saw a giant goldfish. I thought she saw a carp and just didn't know any better but later on after she left I saw a fish that was about 7-8 inches swimming, and it was ORANGE just like a goldfish. I thought it was a goldfish someone had released. But was really curious as to how it got that big without being eaten. Who knows, could have been the illusive golden bass. I wonder if these more extreme color morphs are more common than we know. Would make sense the gold ones would be eaten earlier on and not make it to bigger sizes. Stick out a lot more and what not.
  12. Lol, im imagining myself in a pair of those glasses you get after cataracts surgery. My grandpa rocked them all the time. Well I don't want to shell out for RX sunglasses so i think Im going to go with some cocoons.
  13. Sort of on topic but does anybody wear jerseys but do not do tournaments? I want one but don't do tournamnets, hope to do one this year but who knows. I just don't want to look like a tool fishing from the shore with my jersey on lol.
  14. Wow these are really nice! Especially that natural perch one small jaw! Living on St. Clair, perch is a pattern that usually always works. When I get home from work today I'll have to snap soe pics of mine that I have made so far.
  15. I dunno, what's the fine? I live in Michigan and don't have to worry about the lead ban. But was just curious as to how they see how they kept everybody from using lead.
  16. Not too off topic but do they have guys driving around on boats checking everyone that fishes to see if they are using lead?
  17. For blades, if you want to move the bait fast and give off more flash choose a willowleaf combination. A colorado provides more lift so you can fish it slower at different depths. It also gives off a lot of vibration, making it good for really dirty water or night fishing. As for color, silver on sunny days and clear water, gold on cloudy days and muddy water. I have silver willowleafs on almost all my spinners since up here most of the lakes are generally clear.
  18. What color tint did you get gray, brown, amber?
  19. I have polarized glasses but I also have prescription glasses and the was looking at some Cocoons on TW. Anybody try them? How well do they fit over your glasses? Any other fit-overs?
  20. Zoom super fluke SK Rage craw Berkley power worm.
  21. I throw them when Im having a hard time getting anything on a 1/2oz spinnerbait.
  22. Anybody looking for a rooming buddy at the hampton? Would like to stay for at least 5 days. PM if you're interested. I also need a boat seat and is anybody driving from OHIO?
  23. Alright, I finally was able to figure out that I will be able to go. Just need to print off and mail in my form! Also, is anybody coming from michigan?
  24. Good lord...... It's like Kleenex, some people call all facial tissues, a Kleenex.
  25. Scorch was the name of a video game character (Starwars republic commando) And when I tried to sign up for Xbox live that was taken, so I added the "er", taken as well. So I added my birthday 2/14 and bam. Use it for just about everything.
