  1. Last year, I talked to the Yozuri reps at the Fred Hall show, I inquired about applying line conditioners, and was told that their line will not absorb any liquid, so I stopped using it on all of my line, even w/o KVD line conditioner, the ultrasoft still was very manageable, and there wasn't any more memory than before, when I used it.
  2. Don't think I'd throw one with treble hooks. There are a few that can be pretty weedless. The 6" weedless huddelston, and the 3:16 Mission fish are 2 that do catch fish, the mission fish come in 3 different sizes IIRC, I usually get the 5 and 7" models. You can fish these like a regular swimbait, i.e. slow steady retrieve, or you can fish them like a jig, I've better success with the latter.

This subject came up another site *cough* that I visit. I said the same thing re: the painting, as opposed to the spro frog. I saw these at the Fred Hall show, and while they look tempting, I couldn't justify the 12.00 price tag, compared to other frogs.
  4. ujhgiu haha, no mispelled werds..Nope no worky for me either.
  5. Same here, but I may not wait until summer..lol
  6. The above is correct. Here's a link to Yozuri's site explaining it. http://www.yo-zuri.com/ BTW, it's the same process for the ultrasoft too.
  7. Yup, you know if everything was real, Bobby would be hurtin someone for sure..lol Still good entertainment.. 8-)
  8. Yup, the bill makes it fairly weedless, well until you hit a decent sized tree..LOL
  9. I like the Arron Martens brand. I tried 2 other brands, they totally sucked, and I don't recall which brands they were.. :-[ Either TW, or BTW should have them.
  10. If you don't mind me asking, when do you personally, use an EWG? When there's not a ton of weeds. Seems like the EWG hook seem to collect more than a worm, or straight shank hook. Most of the lakes I fish have a bunch of snot grass during the late spring, and summer, that's when I use a non EWG hook.
  11. You can fish them with a skirt & trailer, or just a trailer, I prefer a baby fluke, it's up to you. As for the retrieve, you can do a steady cadence, you can bottom bounce them, twitch em, slow roll em..The fish will dictate which retrieve you need.
  12. Don't know, always used KVD line conditioner..
  13. Rats, I forgot to add, that in most cases, I like retrieving baits very slow, and or bottom bouncing them. As to where to fish em, welp, anywhere they won't get hung up, that's one reason why I like the weedless hudd's. For bottom bouncing, try this, cast out, let the bait sit for a good 60 secs. Then give the rod an upward twitch, which makes the bait look like it's feeding on the bottom, i do this with a 3:16 missionfish also. I fish swimbaits, although larger ones..all year long. Never had much luck with a fast retrieve, that's not to say it won't work. Try mixing up the retrieve, the fish will tell ya what's up..
  14. Sorry, I was just being a smart *** Looks like a nice set up. I have a 806 mag, love for swimbaiting..I'm sure you'll have a great time with yours.. 8-)
  15. If you didn't know what it is good for, why'd you buy it..?
  16. IMHO, it depend greatly on the rod, as some are under, and over rated for weights re: lures. I have a Clarus 7'MH/F that I can throw a 6" freestyle, and a my 6" weedless hudd on, although the hudd does tend to load the rod up a tad more than I'd like, it does work, just don't try and zing the bait a mile out there.. ;D Normally I'd use my shimano Callcutta inshore rod 7'6" MH/F, which is rated up to 2oz's.
  17. I try to use the smallest hook possible. On the 10" annies, I will try a 5/0, if I have problems with hook ups, I'll go to a 6/0. No EWG's for me. The thickness of the worm dictates the size of hook in most cases.
  18. What weight and bill size for baby fluke? 3/16, you could get away with a 1/4 oz though, long bill. I finally wound losing it yesterday.. Not bad for fishing it for a year in weeds, tree limbs, ect..
  19. Man, this sucks...Prayers to all involved.. :-[
  20. This totally surprises me, I thought you would have been fishing these for years.. 8-) BTW, be careful on which brand scrounger heads you buy, not all are created equal..Arron Martens for me..
  21. All I can say is..I used 55lb braid, with a 15 or 20 lb copoly leader, about 4' long to throw swimbaits in the 3oz range, using a uni to uni knot, never had any problems. I think the succsess I had was because of the way I tied the knot/knots. 8 loops over the braid, and at least 6 loops over the copoly, made for a fairly good knot.
  22. Been fishin a scrounger head with a baby fluke for about a year now.
  23. No leader most of the time, straight 55lb braid. When I do use a leader, it's usually 3' or so, and that's on a 7'6", or 7'11" rod..
  24. What a cutie, she must take after her mom..huh..? j/k Congrats..
