  1. I have one as well...great reel for the $$$.
  2. If you can get a custom rod for 175.00..get it. Usually the just the blank will run 150.00 or so. Jfyi..Shimano rods are usually under rated, i.e. my Calcutta and Clarus will throw more weight than they are rated for, case in point, the calcutta is rated for 1oz max, yet easily throws 2oz baits. Can't speak to other brands re: rod ratings.
  3. I've used JJ's since last June...what I do is dip em then store them in the newer zip lock baggies. The smell will linger a bit in your tackle bag/box for awhile, but it will go away. I also try and get all the air out of the bag, and roll it up as much as I can..Note: do this outside, or in a well ventalated garage..
  4. Which brand Rod..? they are not all created equal..?
  5. I compared the 2 reels in the tackle shop, and while the Curado was "going" to be my purchase in the begining..I decided to handle the Chronarch..To me, the Chronarch felt smoother, had more "silkiness" to it, so I bought it. I love the reel. I did get it on sale, so it was worth thr extra $$$ to me.
  6. I've been using Trilene 100% for about a month now..haven't had any issues, compared to other lines..
  7. As far as Useable baits..I'd have to say Matt's, Spro, and Hudd's. I fish city park lakes alot..have already lost 3 swimbaits within a week..gets exspensive, and for that reason, I wouldn't throw a 3:16 or Nates.
  8. 1/2oz Pure Poisen in bluegill..
  9. me too. And all this time we thought you were on there 24/7... ;D
  10. And I don't use ant line conditioner on mine. FWIW, I bought a filler spool of 10lb ultrasoft some months ago..and I didn't like it at all...my Son hates it, but then he's a trilene xl fan..lol I get mine from 1 tackle shop, cuz I know they sell lots of it, and have fresh line 99% of the time. You can order on line if you'd like the name, I'd be happy to pm it to you. i must have , maybe cause the tackle store near me does not sell alot of it ( they have alot though ! ) and the guys there say that not many people like it . i guess i might try some more some time on one of my backup spinning set-ups ...
  11. I could never get used to bifocals, now I have 2 pairs of glasses...1 pair gets Thicker every year.. :'(
  12. ;D...yeah, gets nerve racking sometimes..
  13. O.K...so it wasn't just me...thanks for the info.
  14. Lets just say..if the hooks were bigger, I'd use it for a coat hanger.. ;D
  15. Dunno..that's a long drive for me..we'll have to plan something soon.
  16. O.K...that too... Dont ya mean Dobyns? Bwhaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!
  17. Ooopps, Doybens...shoulda used the spell checker.. :-[
  18. I would say so..But, a active bass will strike regardless of the size of bait..lol
  19. Bass are green... ;D Hey, some people don't like colors..Me..I don't care, as long as the reel performs..
  20. Cool..I'm lookin at either the 301 Curado, or the 253L Luna.
  21. The swimbait never stops........ ;D
  22. Mike..I wanted the Dyobens, but $$ is tight and needed a couple baits, so..I went with the Okuma 7'11" heavy..I know of 3 people that have the same rod, and really like it. Should be good for the Duct..lol
  23. Yes, but well worth it imho..
  24. RAT's...I forgot all about it... :'(
  25. No, but it might do your hair if you ask real nice... ;D
