Need help choosing a Daiwa Tatula for topwater
Nice..I use the Irod 783sb, rated 1 to 4 oz, rod is really light and like yours, it balances really nice with the 200. I agree re: the 20 lb line.

Need help choosing a Daiwa Tatula for topwater
I too have a Fuego, type R and the CT's I listed above. I don't use leaders, as a result I use 17 to 20 lb mono on my 200 Tatula to throw 6" Huddelstons, ect..I find the T wing shines in this case. I have heard that T wings and leaders don't play to well together, but I would say the CT's are better IF you don't use a leader, at least in my case.

Need help choosing a Daiwa Tatula for topwater
I have Tatuka's in the Fuego, CT 100, 150 and 200, like chop said, you really can't go wrong with any of them. Then I would go for the SV..

Swimbait Rods
If your looking for a light weight rod, have a look at the Irod Genesis II rods. I have the jr. swimbait rod, and a 6'9" mh, these are some of the nicest light weight rods I have. I also have a few Diawa Tatula rods which are also light, but the Irods are even lighter. If I decide to get back into tossing 8" and bigger baits, the Irod will be my choice..Plus they have a great warranty..

2 fluorocarbon maintenance questions
If you keep the reel in a dark cool place, i.e. no sunlight, I think you will o.k. spraying with KVD line conditioner will only last so long, but not as long as you want to store it. Um, you certainly could spool up different line, while re-spooling the FC line, just try and not to allow any kinks in the fc line. If you do get a kink, trash that part of the line.

What are some good low profile reels under $140 for swimbaits
How heavy do you want to throw.? Low profile is o.k. for lighter baits say up to 2.5 oz or so, anything heavier, and then I'd go with at least a 300 size reel. 4 to 6 oz, then a 400.

CHANGING BATTERY 2015 SILVERADO/YOU'VE GOT TO BE KIDDING
Another blunder from the good ole GM engineers. Even my 2003 Duramax has some crazy to get to stuff that makes almost impossible for a dyi to do..

Using freshwater reels in salt
I use to fish fresh and salt 4 to 5 times a week with my shimano casting and spinning reels, some were high end, some low end. All I did was rinse them thoroughly asap after using them for saltwater. Normally I would re oil and grease them once a month if needed, usually it was just having to oil them. This went on for about 2 years until I had to stop fishing, but never had any problems.

Light Swimbait rod?
It would be iffy, although the Irod has a softer tip, I'm not sure how well it would work with a 5/8 oz lure. I've only used my rod for 6" huds. You could always call Matt @ Irod and ask him, they have Great customer service. Maybe next time out I'll give a 5/8 oz a try..

Light Swimbait rod?
I have been throwing my 6" weedless huds on a Irod Gen II 738sb, which is rated 1 to 4 oz. I have a Tatula 200 on it, very pleased with both fit and finish, and the action, tosses a hud a good distance. They run 149.00, you can get them for 127.00 or something during TW's black Friday.

I’m back after 20 years
Welcome GTN. I stopped fishing for almost 10 years, got back into it just after the start of this year. Alot changed even since then. ned rigs, a rod and reel for every technique, ect, ect, oh and the rising cost of everything. Like Tom, I'm also old school, and like Tom, I'm old too...lol Anywho, enjoy your time here.

Lure Rating Question
Hmmm..being that a given rod, say a MH, or Heavy, could have a few different lure weight ratings, how could anyone make a choice w/o knowing if that MH will toss up to 5/8 oz, or 3/8 oz..? I'm far from an inexperienced angler, and I still look at the lure rating. They may not be 100% accurate, but I can get a general idea if a rod will toss a 3oz swimbait vs a 5 oz bait..
