  1. What do you guys think about the perch, I think it looks ok, but I think It could be better. What do you think about the vertical bars? I am thinking there should be 4 and they should be longer.
  2. Was out messing around today trying a few things. I did the perch I posted about in another thread. I think I am gonna have to adjust the way I do the bars. I did a couple new patters and tweaked my bream/bluegill pattern. As always tell when you Like/Dont Like and maybe I can adjust it for the better. My version of a threadfin shad My perch, I think I need to adjust the template for the vertical bars My version of a gizzard shad A chartruese shad bluegill/bream version2
  3. All the chrome or gold ones I buy, get an extra topcoat and the finish lasts as good as the regular painted ones.
  4. Would there be any way to attach a stinger to the tail area? Maybe drill a small hole and use some 80lb braid to make your own stinger.
  5. Thanks for the kind words, I think I need to shoot some transparent green on the top part to give it a slighty more natural look.
  6. Its funny when I see people dog BPS reels, I have a bunch of PQ and so do a lot of friends of mine, not one of the reels has had problems and they are used more than 1 season.
  7. Good stuff, I like the crackle effect as well.
  8. I have a couple carbonlite rods, I love them.

Well after receiving some tips and pointers from a couple of very talented guys from tacklemaking forums, here is my first try and a new way of painting, I tried some freehanding and shading. Let me know what you think and maybe some ways to get my coloring/shading right for a bream. Here is what I did messing around with it.
  10. From what I have seen/read, it is similar to balsa. I am gonna try and make a few things from the pieces I purchased at home depot. There are a few people here who make awesome stuff from it.
  11. Either way, they are both badass hooks!
  12. I use them on my cranks, I think they are the best hook you can get. I think they are more sharp then the kvd elite triple grips. They cost less. I get them at Janns for like 3.79 a pack.
  13. Would like one in gizzard shad.
  14. Check out BPS online sale for their Pro Qualifier reel for 80$, its a great reel for the money.
  15. Works great here on Lake Erie.

I love the red craw, that would absolutely kill here on a local private lake.
  17. I just use the net I found at Joanns fabric, they only have the coarse and fine types of "tulle" Like you I am always on the lookout for new netting. I have my eye on my wifes "lufa" (sp?)
  18. That looks really good!
  19. The ones I make!
  20. Stellar as always!
  21. That looks awesome Dave, and thanks for the aquarium net, how did I not think of that lol!
  22. I have a 7'6 Mh BPS carbonlite with a 7.1wlp Pflueger Patriarch. Its light good price, and its sensitive. I have horsed fish out of laydown trees and use 50lb braid with no problems on it.
  23. Id love to try the Diawa, but I need to win the lottery to afford it.
  24. Fished it today, I have it on a 7'6 MH carbonlite and I horsed a couple fish out of some laydown trees with ease. Cast smooth, so far I like it. I thought something was wrong earlier then realized I had my braid wrapped around the blank instead of flowing smoothly through the guides lol. Thats what I get for not paying attention when I take my line through the guides after spooling it up lol.
