  1. Best wishes to you, Russ.
  2. Robert, I just got back into town and saw this thread. Are you still around KC? If so, it would be nice to meet you. In addition to some of the places that RW mentioned, if you are still in the KC area, check out Justice Drugstore in Smithville, MO. Despite the odd name it is some of the best food in the area. A husband and wife run the restaurant and both worked as chefs in Paris, France. If you eat there you are looking at a minimum of $100 - 120 per couple for dinner but you won't forget it. The wine pairings are excellent as well. You will need to call for a reservation.
  3. Welcome to the forum.
  4. I don't think Martin-Wells received much hoopla, especially compared to Danica Patrick. For me, and I assume for many others, the reason I want to emphasize how Martin-Wells did is to encourage those with biased attitudes to take notice. We have over 25,000 members so you can be sure there are biases among us and all of us, now and then, can fall prey to stereotypes. I do understand your point about the hoopla however, especially regarding Danica.
  5. Nice work, Glenn.
  6. I only skimmed it, but I didn't see any sort of evidence at all No evidence was provided. That's one heck of a story and plenty of names are mentioned. I guess they could corroborate.

  19. I was rooting for KVD to win the Classic this year but there are other anglers that I was rooting for as well. Todd Faircloth is a great competitor and I almost chose him as my choice in the Bass Resource Classic contest. I also noticed that Kansas City's local boy, Brent Chapman from Overland Park, Kansas, quietly worked his way up the standings and placed 5th ahead of Iaconelli. Congratulations to Chapman! And how about Pam Martin-Wells in 22nd. One more good fish would have placed her in the top 15. These were just some of the people I was watching who don't get as much attention as the big names.
  20. Maybe the 48 people who viewed the thread didn't think they had an answer that would help this gentleman. In answer to your question, if you want to fish in the bay buy the biggest motor and platform you can with the money at your disposal. For the smaller lakes, you can always use the trolling motor as others have stated. I know you said that you want to avoid making payments but if it were financially possible for you to use the $3000 as a down payment and make payments on the balance of a good used boat you could probably get something that you could use on most bodies of water. However, if money is too tight or layoffs are a possibility in the future, I agree with your choice of avoiding payments.
  21. Welcome, Chris.

  23. I was thinking the same thing yesterday while looking at the standings. I've watched her on a couple of shows and the woman can flat-out fish. Think about it. There were only 5 lbs between her and 11th place. She was one solid fish from making it into the top 15.
  24. Some things we will never know but if I were to speculate, I would agree with Jack's post above. The man is gifted.
  25. Welcome to Bass Resource, Jeremy.
