I would throw it there too. If I lose a spinnerbait or a crank it's in the deep wood, but I would throw them there as well. There is no lure too expensive to throw it where it should be used. Nice fish, Red!

  9. Frogtog, we're all pulling for you. There's nothing I can say that hasn't already been said. My best wishes go out to you and your family.
  10. Right in line with what RW stated, if you don't have a baitcaster that can handle light crankbaits, use spinning equipment for those. A good example of a light crankbait is the Rapala Shad Rap. You can cast them a great distance with spinning gear.

  12. I *** you guys. We have had a cool spell over the last week and the night time temperatures have hit the high 40s. The highs today and tomorrow are only in the 60s. Usually, at this time of year we are having highs in the 80s and 90s and lows in the upper 60s to 70s. When the temps fall to around 50 many of the doves will migrate south from here. I've been working and I haven't had a chance to hunt but I was planning on getting out tomorrow evening. I was scouting some areas last weekend and the numbers were lower than normal already.

  14. Excellent post, Paul! I think you should copy the relevant portions and post them in the general forum as it would be useful to those who are learning to read sonar.

  16. Geez, Mike! Those fish were busting some shad big time! It looks like you were in the right spot. Nice video!
  17. Thanks for the review, Scott. That's a nice looking bait.

  21. In my area we've had a cool August and in the last few days night time temperatures have been as low as 50. This is abnormal as we are usually in the 90s during the day and 70s at night during this time of year. I haven't fished in the last week but I expect an early fall transition if this continues. On a side note, I was looking forward to dove season starting September 1st, but with these night time temperatures, some of the doves will already have started to migrate south from Kansas City.
