Nobody. Reason being, the Chefs had the weakest schedule in the NFL. KC was a fluke, everybody could see that. They played what, 2 or 3 teams with decent records this year? Heck, they couldnt help but win the division with a schedule like that. Based on 2009 records, the Chief's didn't have the weakest schedule. They couldn't have had the weakest schedule because there were some one, two, and three win teams in 2009 and the Chief's won four games. The Raiders only won five games in '09 so their schedule was pretty easy too. The teams with the worst records have the weakest schedules. FBL, I agree that the Chiefs winning of the division was a fluke but they are an improved team over the previous year. However, other than Pittsburgh and Miami the Chiefs and Raiders played the same teams. The Chiefs played Cleveland and Buffalo.

I would have been happy with 7 wins this year so they did better than I expected for the season. There are a lot of improvements that need to be made. I think the 10 and 6 record obscures the fact that this was the beginning of a rebuild. Because of their very poor record last year they were given a relatively easy schedule and it is reflected in their record. Too bad they didn't make more of a game of it though. And what's with the Chief's coaching staff? Jamaal Charles will gain a lot of yards and then they will just stop using him like they did today. He was given the ball only twice in the second half and once was on a play that was designed as a deception which fell completely flat. We were playing a better team already, it was going to be our last game of the season if we lose, so why didn't we use our best talent to the fullest?

  6. Nice Fish, Goose. If you're finding 40 - 45 degree surface water you'll be catching some fish now and then. The report on my main fishing lake yesterday showed a surface temperature of 33 degrees right now and it is iced over in the coves.
  7. Nice fish, Paul and I agree. Stripers and Hybrids are a handful compared to Black Bass.

Click the <search> tab above and search for Lazer Lures in the Fishing Tackle forum over the last year or for all years. You will find a number of threads about them. Some people think they are gimmicks. A few people like them. Below is one thread in particular that I found interesting but there are others. http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1235174159/0
  9. Welcome to BR, Chuck.
  10. Exactly. How often does Tom Redington or George Welcome make posts? These guys are great fishing guides and great anglers but they don't post very often. Any discussion of best anglers would have to include them. Who knows what other talented individuals exist among our membership of which most of us are unaware?
  11. I wouldn't even begin to venture a guess based on someone's participation and pictures posted in a forum due to the fact that it would be too subjective. Out of approximately 30,500 members there are probably quite a few great anglers who rarely post.
  12. Yeah, I use the adult ADD excuse even though I'm 50.
  13. I agree with this. My greatest fishing excitement occurs at the moment when I detect the strike and set the hook. I would fish if my lake were surrounded by buildings as well, but putting the nature experience and bass fishing together is the ultimate fishing experience for me. I enjoy getting out in the sticks whether I am fishing, hunting, or just walking. Combining that with bass fishing, experiencing the fight of a living organism, and then allowing it to survive to live and fight another day is why I love it so much.
  14. I'm glad you found the reel, Sam, but that's pretty weird stuff. Should we expect to see a post from you in the Introduction forum soon?
  15. I often say that I don't think that the bass have read the same books as I have ... ;D ;D I have sitting on my desk right now, waiting to the read or re-read during the cold winter days when the water is hard: In Pursuit of Giant Bass - Bill Murphy Spoonplugging - Buck Perry Knowing Bass - Keith Jones Largemouth Bass - Fundamentals (In-Fisherman) Largemouth Bass - Location (In-Fisherman) Now, I just got to knuckle down and knock-off these 1300 pages before spring ... That list is similar to mine. I would add KVD's Bass Strategies to the list. I think In-Fisherman's Location book is excellent.
  16. I've fished spooks for years and have had much success with them, fishing them fast and slow. I have tried them with fluoro before just for grins and it was much more difficult for me to achieve a walk that satisfied me with the nose down. I also tried holding the rod tip high and I discovered very quickly that I don't walk a bait well with the tip high. I have to give you kudos if you can achieve a satisfactory walk with a large spook on fluoro. I can see using it if you want to turn a topwater bait into a wake bait.
  17. The lesson here is to be versatile. Under many conditions slow moving baits are needed but there are times when a fast moving bait will be just what the doctor ordered.
  18. No specific answers can be given but there are definitely times when an active bait is the ticket. On a windy, warm day in the right area using a spinnerbait or lipless crank I have averaged 8 - 10 fish an hour for four or five hours when the fish were active. This doesn't happen on a regular basis but it is an example of what you could be missing.
  19. Welcome to the BR community.
  20. If you know you are fishing an area containing bass and nothing is working deadsticking can be deadly. I have to admit that I don't think I've ever let a lure sit for 10 - 20 minutes though. Five minutes is probably the longest I have let a lure soak. This is definitely something I'll have to try this year when the bite is tough. Thanks for the eye-opener, Ronnie.
  21. There are some color choices out there that are so similar you have to wonder why they were created. I can only guess that it lures more anglers into buying more lures.
  22. Same for me. My eyes change slowly so I'll take care of my reading/computer glasses one year and the next year I take care of my sunglasses.
  23. Welcome to the BR community, Pete. I have nothing new to add to the previous posts.
