    Welcome to the BR forum.
  3. Cool. I can believe it. I've seen carp that are fin to fin around some marinas.

    Hello, Andy.
  5. Welcome to the forum.
  6. I'm sure that keeping extremely detailed records in some cases is useful. I think that more often than not though, the time it takes to do the record keeping does not balance with the benefits. Recording every little specific detail for 10 - 15 inch fish doesn't seem to me to be an efficient use of time. Obviously, knowing what pattern resulted in catching fish under specific environmental conditions is important. At the end of the day, knowing what patterns worked under which conditions would seem to be the main benefit. In my opinion, everything else is extra data to comb through with much of it being useless.

  12. Hello, and welcome to the community.
  13. Funny stuff, Tin! It is understandable in a way that some people don't catch the jokes though. Think about it. Some of these people are under pressure to get their shopping done. They may be working long hours and are wondering how they will get everything done. I'm sure some people are just half listening to these comments as their minds are cluttered with other concerns.

I hate to knock your Steelers as I root for them quite often but one of the 6 SB wins was pretty bogus. I don't know what the officials were drinking or taking when the Steelers played the Seahawks but the officating definitely affected the outcome of that game in the Steelers favor. And by the way, I was for the Steelers. The way I see it, if you make it under the current rules you earned it. All teams have to play under the same rules. This is similar to the debate about the Angler of the Year. You earn your place in the playoffs in either one based on the rules by which everyone must abide, though I have to agree that the NFC West is producing some ugly records this year.
  15. I posted this on another forum but it hasn't been needed here. It looks like it fits now. I spend a lot of time on another forum where such topics get shut down quickly when it devolves into nothing but an argument. I like lively debate but sometimes it can be irritating. It is amazing how, otherwise, intelligent people base their opinions about very important subjects on information obtained from Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, etc on the right and Rachel Maddow, Keith Olbermann, etc on the left. All talk show hosts that I have listened to and researched cherry pick the facts to support their own views, not to mention some news organizations. They conveniently leave out the facts that don't support the idea they want you to believe. If you follow a talk show, research the facts on your own. And please, don't just cherry pick conservative or liberal blogs or sites. Go to sites that actually provide facts like factcheck.org, politifact.com, etc. (Be wary. Some fact checking sites are partisan sites portraying themselves as non-partisan. Research the research. ) If you are going to read blogs read both sides, not just your side. You will be shocked at how misleading some of your favorite talk shows are. This the very reason for the quote I have in my signature.

Rush is a great band. Progressive rock has been taken to new levels by quite a few bands since Rush first hit the scene. If you like complex music check out the following. Dream Theater Spock's Beard Symphony X I like a lot of other music too and quite a few bands have been mentioned here that I like. Still, complex, creative, progressive music would have to be my favorite genre. Unfortunately, progressive music doesn't get much attention these days. Music for the masses involves creating simple hooks and melodies, or in the case of rap, rhythmic speech with very little going on melodically. There's nothing wrong with that. It can be difficult to come up with simple catchy hooks too. It's just not my favorite cup of tea.
  18. I do too, but only because nobody misses me when I'm away. Welcome back, Burley.
