Like I said above, I've heard from many people that they're doing a lot of spraying at the big O too! That was the death of Istokpoga years ago. It's a sad thing really.

I lock mine down with 50-65lb braid. Occasionally it will still slip very slightly when extreme force is being applied

I use mainly braid so don't lose many. But when I do I make it count! ?

Some of my buddies clown me because I keep both of my boats built in coolers slam full of water and Propel. I'll even keep spares in a live well. Florida heat gets dangerous though. Better safe than sorry.

It's a little different for me since I'm primarily a shallow water fisherman. If I can see down 3ft I will use a leader. In deep water offshore fishing I always go ahead and use one. In really heavy cover I think the braid just looks like another piece of grass and I don't use one.

Straight braid in heavy cover or stained water. Leader in clear water for me. Dab of glue on the knot helps.

I like using a gambler big EZ instead.
