  1. Flipping style most of the time. Only use the thin worm weights with worms.
  2. Snag proof Bobby's perfect frog for me.
  3. I start with awesome spray cleaner and elbow grease. Then I use rubbing compound. I finish with Meguiar's Ultimate black gel. Looks like new afterwards.
  4. Uhhh, only every single trip out! Pitched unweighted in the holes and punched weighted in the thicker parts. Huge producer either way.
  5. I've never found them to be sensitive myself. I've had something from every single line there is too. I keep hearing balance thrown around as well as lite weight. Maybe on the shorter rods. I just sold my 2 806 flip/punch rods because they were tip heavy, clunky and just heavy all around. Don't get me wrong, I do like some of the rods. But I've never and will never pay retail for one. I believe there are way better options in the price range.
  6. All the time debating it here could've been spent tossing a bait to whatever they are and finding out!
  7. Also the right gear is really important too. Most frog hooks are thick gauge and require a really stout rod and braided line to get a good hookset.
  8. Waiting is the first thing you're doing wrong! I'll never understand why people tell you to do that. When you see that blow up the fish has already either inhaled or missed your bait all together and is headed down. While you wait he already spit it if he ever had it to begin with! Try it, you'll see.
  9. I couldn't agree with you more! I don't leave anything stock in my life. Vehicles are all tricked out, house, guns and fishing gear is no different. It makes things unique to your own style. Does one of my tricked out, color matched fishing combos work any better then anyone else's stock combo, of course not. Does it put a big ol smile on my face and make me enjoy using it that much more, absolutely!
  10. Can't help you with your question but those baits are awesome! My son caught his PB in that exact color with an owner beast weighted belly hook.
  11. Snag proof Bobby's perfect frog. Works pretty nice yr round here. Bruiser baits big stick (6") in close second.
  12. I used to be the guy that always yielded up until recently. I've had so many bad experiences with people on the lakes I fish that I just don't give a crap anymore I just keep on fishing. It happened to me just this Sunday. I was fishing a big Lily Pad field and encountered another boat coming around the corner. They just proceeded to fish all over me. Maybe 50 feet away all in my spots and around me. It was around noon and HOT. I was throwing a hollow-body frog in the open pockets. I heard one guy chuckle saying he's still throwing a frog. A few minutes after that I popped a couple dinks. Nothing to brag about but the whole time we were there I saw them catch absolutely nothing.
  13. Better, no.... more efficient, absolutely.
  14. This is exactly how I feel about that as well. But the same exact thing that draws me away is what attracts some. My son fell in love with it as soon as he saw it. He has an Okuma Scott Martin rod that he immediately dubbed perfect for the SLX to go on.?
  15. I've been wanting to try this one myself. It would be appropriate since Bobby's is the only hollow body frog I use now.
  16. Same rods I use for non popping hollow-body frogs. 7' 3" 6 power and 7' 9" 5 power.
  17. I have one on pre-order for my 9 yr old son. Looks and sounds too good to be true at that price but we'll see.
  18. Powell 736 frog Dobyns 736 Champion Tatula original 7' 4" H/F
  19. Havoc grass pig Havoc rocket craw Zoom swimmin fluke
  20. Look out for eBay coupons regularly. I scored a brand new Curado K for $118 yesterday with a $25 of coupon on there.
  21. FL checking in!
  22. You can do it if you find shade and fish in that shade of course. I just did it Sunday in scorching hot temps. Found a shoreline full of Cypress trees and pads the trees shade. They smashed the frog all through the day till I left around 2pm.
  23. This^^^ I have a display type box with foam in it that I keep mine in. Same closet my gear is in inside the house.
