  1. I really like the Gillz gear with the built in mask and breathers that run along the sides and arms. Great customer service too.
  2. I use the Cavitron and the booyah myself. I have however had a couple of the booyahs skirts fall off after a fish or two. That has never happened on the Cavitron.
  3. I agree that a hydrofoil will help some moreso than a different prop. And I DEFINITELY agree that it's really underpowered. My 18 1/2ft with a 150hp needed some playing with to get the plane speed I wanted. So a 50hp will struggle a lot.
  4. My latest toy, a 96 ProCraft 185 Dual Pro. Purchased from original owner in mint condition, hardly ever used. I've already redone the decals and added a keel shield, recessed trolling tray, Lowrance hook 9, boat buckles and rod buckles. I'm also installing dual power poles as soon as we get power back here in S FL. Thanks a lot Irma! And my first fish caught out of it.
  5. I don't own the St Croix but i have the recon elite 796 and 766. I can tell you they are overrated for sure. They have soft tips and perform more like MH rods. I really like them though. Especially considering I purchased them on sale from TW.
  6. Tie on a big swimbait and find out!
  7. I use the white in the 50 size. Catches dinks and pigs alike.
  8. I have bags and bags of the strike King tunes that i never used. Never got any confidence in them really. I use mostly beaver and craw baits now.
  9. For those applications I highly recommend either the Tatula 200 HD or the Lew's wide spool super duty. Both can be had on eBay for much less then $160.
  10. Used ranger for sure! 25k will buy a nice one too!
  11. I just leave them in their original package. But, i do fish out of a bass boat with plenty storage.
  12. Another vote for Megastrike. Stuff is legit!
  13. Savage gear is a favorite of mine in the "cheap" department.
  14. Just get the sandwich style brackets. They wedge in between your transom and motor.
  15. After our last trip mine asked why do we sometimes not catch a single fish? Haaaa, cuz we suck my son...
  16. Picking produce on farms and mowing yard for me. Soar, sun burnt and sometimes bloody.... But so worth it when i took that trip to the local Walmart to load up!
  17. Largemouth - 10.8 lb on a paycheck punch skirt and rage craw punch rig
  18. I got one as a warranty replacement for an old Cumara i broke. Very strong and sensitive but ugly as homemade sin! I sold it right away...
  19. I'm a die-hard MK fan myself. Never had an issue with mine unlike with MG. But... My newest boat came with a perfectly working MG so i will use it till it goes out.
  20. I only buy the boat buckle brand because I've had bad experiences with the Reese brand. I just scored a new set on eBay for $45 shipped!
  21. Not even a fair comparison imo. The Okuma hands down. More sensitive and better feel overall. And as far as the fury being lighter.... No way! I weighed the 704 at around 5.7oz. It's slightly better balanced so it feels lighter maybe. And yes i have owned and used both. Most that will vote for one or the other have only handled one or the other....
  22. So many options in that price range! I'm partial to the Dobyns champ 735/736 or the Zillion 731 MH/F. Both can be had in that price range if you look around.
  23. 30# is the smallest braid i will use on a baitcaster. If i feel i need a leader I'll use 17+ izorline XXX or P-line CXX copoly. In clear water I'll go with seaguar AbrazX or P-line fluorocarbon.
  24. For $54.99 the blackout rods can't be beat on sale from TW!
