  1. Glenn, Thank you for giving us an awesome place to come togather to share ideas and information. The people here are the greatest bunch of guys that I have ever had the pleasure of sharing a forum with!!!! LBH, Awesome job man!!!!!! it turned out great!!
  2. Hi, My name is Daren Lewis and I'm a bassaholic!!! I haven't fished any tournaments yet!!! But look for my name in the BFL Okie division co-angler and the Oklahoma Triton Team Trail in 2006. I also plan on going down to Fork for one of the big bass splashes next year!!! I will be fishing the Grand challenge next year and some jackpots!!! Good fishing Daren
  3. Cbedo The home equity loan would be the best deal. Because you can deduct the interest. I had thought about going that route on mine but I didn't have enough equity in my house so I financed it through Commerce bank, that's the bank the dealer I bought the boat from recommended. My interest rate was a little higher than I would have liked, but I really wanted the boat.
  4. Welcome aboard!!!!
  5. Welcome Jake!! Man your'e taking this moving thing all wrong!!! You may not have your favorite spots any more. But you have the opportunity to find new honey holes and favorite spots. Thats the whole fun of fishing finding and trying out new places. Good luck!! I look forward to hearing of your success!!
  6. I fished the Grand lake two weekends in a row, The during the week they had some rain and the second weekend we had a cold front come through bringing more rain. The surface water temp dropped 9 degrees. I didn't catch as many fish the 2nd weekend but I caught better fish. And most were shallower.
  7. bassdocktor, I have a TR-186 with a 150 Johnson, 3-blade raker(not sure what pitch), and no jack plate. My boat tops out at 64mph and around 5200 rpm. Thats with my wife, son and myself, all of our gear and a full tank. No walking. I'm not sure whats causing your problem, but I would definately be talking to the dealer I bought it from. I bought mine from Nichols Marine in Tulsa Ok and they have been great. I haven't had any problems with the Triton, but the boat I traded in on the Triton was another story.
  8. Thanks Chris, Every time I read one of your's Rauls, or RW's posts i learn a little something about lures!!! You guys keep the info coming, it really helps me out.
  9. Next weekend my son will be using his .243 the following weekend we'll both be using .50 caliber Black powder rifles. ;D ;D ;D Oh , I'm sorry you were talking about fishing lures. :
  10. Very well put LBH Bassresource.com is all of us and what we make it, with the excellent guidence of Glenn!!
  11. Thanks for the replies fellows!! I've looked at some of the web sites that were recommended from the other thread on pouring baits. I may give it a try later down the road. ;D
  12. I've recently started using the Falcon Tackle Organizer ( FTO ) system. The molded boxes are lure specific and they have a worm bag thats advertised to hold 25 bags of plastics but I've got 35 bags in mine. The draw back is price, it is kind of high for the full system it'll run you around $100.00 But it's well worth it for being able to keep your tackle well organized. www.falconrods.com
  13. Do you guys find that the plastics you pour work better that the ones you buy, for example better than zoom, gulp, etc?? Or do you just enjoy pouring them?? Or do you get some profiles that you can't just go out and buy???
  14. For me, it would depend on the species fo fish i'm after. If I was hiring a bass guide then I want him fishing, showing me new presentations I might not know and how to use lures that i may not be familiar with. I am thinking of hiring a guide for a trip to Texas lake Fork in February. I've never been to this lake before, I'm fairly new to bass fishing from a boat and I'm going to start fishing tournaments next year. A good guide can take years off your learning curve, and I expect him to fish and instruct me at the same time. Now if I'm after crappie, strippers or hybrids then I hope my guide would be to busy baiting hooks and removing fish to actually fish himself.
  15. WELCOME!!!!!! glad to hear from you!!!
  16. Not nearly enough!!!!! I work 10 to 12 hrs a day second shift so fishing during the week is pretty much out, although i do sneak out some in the spring for a couple hours one maybe 2 days a week. But the weekends thats a different story !!!!!! I usually fish as many hours as I can starting Friday evening until late Sunday afternoon. This weekend I spent a total of 20 hrs on the water.

Last weekend my son learned that pitching a crankbait isn't all that smart!!! Buried one of the trebles in his finger!! I guess we all live and learn!!!!
  18. www.msnterraserver.com It's free, you can look at topos and arial photos. Some of them are older mid 90's, but the way topography changes in this country unless it was made today it wouldn't be exactly accurate!! I've been using the fishing hot spots maps. they have been fairly accurate for finding drop offs, creek channels, and ledges. Even if you look at the maps you still need to get on the water and verify that what you are looking for is still there. Hope this helps!!!
  19. Thanks everyone for sharing pics or descriptions of your boats!!! Everyone of them is sweet!!! I love being on the water I grew up fishing out of a '69 starcraft 15' deep v with a 25 hp evinrude. It was my granddads boat. When he passed in 94 Grandma had to sale it to help pay for the funeral. It was just this past spring that I was able to afford a boat of my own. I've spent every weekend since mid April at the lake. And I can't hardly wait until next weekend.
  20. Ben, Thanks for all the assistance!!!!! I really appreciate it!!
  21. Ben, that was with my son(135#) , wife(112#), and myself(210#). 1/2 tank of gas and all of my gear plus a medium sized ice chest. Verified those numbers this evening, wide open motor trimmed as slightly over half on the trim gauge. 5200 rpm. I'm going to call Nichols tomorrow and find out what the max rpm is supposed to be. Thanks for all the info, and I may be keeping this boat longer than I planned!!! so jackplate and hotfoot for Christmas!!! maybe a new prop too!!
  22. Thats neat!!! nice job LBH!!! Those are some hawgs!!!
  23. Ben, I paid better attention to my tach yesterday, and I'm actually turning about 5200 rpm at full throttle with the motor trimmed up a little over half on my trim gauge. I talked to the guys where I bought my boat on Friday and I forgot to ask what the max rpm was. Heres what I'm running. 2000 Triton tr-186 with a 150 johnson 3 blade SS raker prop. Not sure of the pitch.
  24. Unfortuneatly, this one is a little more complicated due to the fact that we are talking about a military installation. If it were just a public pond they would write him a ticket and give him a court date. I've hunted on a military installation a few times and they are very strict, instead of giving the perp a ticket, they tend to shut down access. Heres the dilema as I see it, you can tell them that someone has been accessing the offlimits areas and maybe they can catch him and ban his access. Or don't say anything, then they can catch him and shut it off to everyone. Good luck It's a shame some people don't seem to have any ethics!! and don't care what effect their actions have on others!!
  25. Welcome to the site!!! I agree with LBH I'd like to see some pictures of the species of fish that you sports catch downunder.
