i like tru-tungsten jigs as well as All terrain tackle's football jig.. very good in my opinion
  6. i like to fish a trick worm or a senko weightless when fishing wacky but i have been going to these baits on a jighead here lately with great sucess
  7. good point sam... sinking brushpiles is in no way cheating... you are doing notinh wrong by it... so go ahead.. drop all the brush piles you want and fish away!
  8. if i was you i would go with a quantum energy in a 6:3:1 on a 7'6 H carrot stik... probably around 350 for both
  9. ill second the carrot stik! i love mine
  10. im a memeber of the hampton roads bass-jons and its great to see a club like this taking root somewhere else in the state.. i wish the best of luck to your club and hope to hear great things coming from up that way.
  11. wow seems like this little issue is splitting many of us lol... i still say fish em.. if its in the lake then its open to everyone!
  12. zoom ol monsters , rage anacondas and berkley powerbait 10".. caught my biggest bass off the 10" powerbait. 9.2 baby
  13. X2 on the denny brauer hook .. these things are strong as crap!
  14. i love the craw.. i have surprisingly caught several off the bed with it already this year.. its like they just can't stand em anywhere near there bed.. caught several on it in early spring and during prespawn as well
  15. well... i have also seen this happen on Gaston as well... i fish many tournaments down there and i personally don't care who planted the brush piles, imm gonna fish them. It's like if you kno these guys are gonna beat you on these spots then why not try to fish them. If you don't then you\r just giving them the advantage and they are gonna tan your hide. If you feel like you can win doing it then by all means do it. Just because they fish the spots it doesn't make them there spots. Go ahead and fish for the win
  16. 1.t 2.a 3.t 4.t 5.f 6.t 7.f 8.b 9.b 10.t
  17. zoom finesse and trick worm gulp earthworm
  18. just go with the flow man... i have been non boating for 5 years now and you just have to feel your boater out.. dont trash his boat and always be respectful. and like these guys said, make sure you know to net before you go trying to net his 5lb kicker fish that could help him win the tournament. Also when your back there juust try to stay positive. work with what he gives you and ALWAYS use something slightly different then your partner. also pay attention to where he casts and trying hit the spots he missed, after all he can't hit every spot. Sometimes doing this can reward you with a solid fish your partner might have missed. Follow these tips and you can have a successful day from the back deck
  19. the daiwa ito for me... i just always prefered a daiwa over a shimano.. shimanos are cheap reels to me
  20. Rat-L-Trap(red craw) texas rigged powerbait lizard texas rigged rage craw weightless 5" senko (pumpkin w/ blk and grn) no 7 shad rap(shad color) yum money minnow Trick worm on a shakey head custom variation of eakins jig (5/16 oz) craw color variation
  21. well i don't kno much about aiirus but i would reccomend getting some carrot stiks... a 6'9 parabolic would be great for cranks and a 6'9 mh would be fine for an all purpose rod.. thats my opinion
  22. i second that.. 7' or longer mh... that should definitely do the trick
  23. fluro is OK but i still personally use mono.. IZORLINE XXX is the only line for me! ;D
  24. magnesium is a good rod but i reccomend the 7'3 carrot stik.. very light and very sensitive! i would reccomend a heavy action if your fishing deeper with the heavier jigs like thomas said
