  2. lake kaweah is one of my favorite lakes its located in visalia big bass, crappie, bluegill, carp nice place to fish lots of shore spots
  3. i actually rented a house herre with some of my buddies and man o man our backyard is a great fishing spot, but it seems like the fish are spooked from people fishing here before or prior me getting here.. i did land 3 nice bass in the 18 range 3-4 pounders so i guess its not that bad.. 2 off a zara spook regular and 1 with a shallow crank bait about 1ft diver only... its very weedy here but i think we're getting a boat today or tomorrow i have 3 more days here so hopefully the bite is better later..

  8. and btw its the gold trion pictured here http://www.tacklefiles.net/castingreels/pflueger_trionlp.php
  9. well ever since i got a new baitcaster my brother has been dying to get one himself. At a local store where i live they are selling a Pflueger Trion for $99 i was wondering if anyone has this reel or has used this reel before. I read some reviews online and someone was saying that the line guide after about 50 casts starts cutting the line is this true for anyone else. My brothers budget is 100 for the reel, i've have advised him to get a new citica, but i think he is trying to save a few bucks.. another question i would ask too then is would you guys grab the citica for 120 or the trion for 99?? please give me some input thanks
  10. it might be the rod being a medium heavy and the line weight i used to use a 5'10" medium ugly stick with a pretty cheap reel and i can launch a weightless senko pretty far, but i also had on 8 pound test its more than enough to do the job just set the drag right you can pull in 3-4 pounders even without drag i've done it plenty of times with 8# line..
  11. p-line cxx 12# caught many 30 inch stripers on it
  12. i also have this set-up M action rod/6.2 ratio baitcast reel but i have an avid mf/chronarch 51mg i use this set-up for pretty much everything, with the chronarch i can cast weightless worms without any backlash, i like jerkbaits, cranks, its a little harder to throw the hevier stuff but it'll still work
  13. go with another avid my 51mg with a 7' avid got me a hawg today i might add haha good for the money
  14. today i went to go fish at a pond filled with fish, i knew there were fish because i saw plenty of bass on the shore good sizes also.. i was wondering what color and what kind of lure should i use for this type of pond fishing?? i tried a frog but had no luck i saw the fish staring at the frog but just ended up swimming away from it.. any help will be nice..
  15. to tell you the truth worms, senko's are my favorite bait, try fishing them extra slow it will pay off, for me i fish from the shore so i love fishing them weightless in shallower water, but deep water is just as good.. when the senko falls the bass love it and usually hit it when its falling if not attract the bass from the bottom by jigging it slowly and also pause quite a bit.. you'll be so happy when you see that line running away from you, feel the fish set the hook.. senkos are my favorite watermelon black and red flakes works the best for me in clear water lakes thats the only color i use...
  16. i got the 7' mf avid with my 51mg very very light i love it
  17. just got the mg last week been fishing with it for about 3 times now its pretty good really light.. i threw jerkbaits and rips easily 7/16, 1/2, 3/4 cast prety far and it was my first baitcaster i learned how to throw in less than 5 cast its pretty easy just set the friction control and breaks to what suits you and your good to go... bought it from *** got it here in less than 3 days because i live about 1-2 hours only from the warehouse, but its a great place to buy from in my opinion...
  18. i like the rapala knot but yesterday it slipped on me which sucked... i was using a jerk bait and jerk i did and all of a sudden no more slack my lure was off but my knot came in perfectly fine... i think it might of been my line being a bit small only at 8lbs, other than that i like that knot it gives the lure a lot of move to it..
  19. So I take it, your single ? Anyway, I like strippers too..... but dude, this is a fishing forum :-) Peace, Fish haha funny!! but ya i was thinking maybe the treble hooks on the bait may be a little to small for the striper's there because the average size at that spot is about a good 30 inches i've caught plenty 30's and today a boat fishermen brought in 3 30inchers too on jumbo minnows.. im thinking ill probably up the size of the lure because im only using the 7/16 oz. one or just change the hook size on them..
  20. don't own a pflueger president but heard a lot of good things about it
  21. today and yesterday i went out to a local lake and went for some stripper, bass action... when i got there i loved the weather it was perfect for strippers so i put on an x-rap and started jerking... when i got my hits 3 in total i had the fish for about a good 10-15 seconds hooked.. while hooked the drag went down like crazy but right when it stopped the lure popped off... lots of lovely words came out btw haha.. well my question is that is it the lure, lure hooks, the rod, or the way im setting the hook on the fish it cant just happen 3 times with the same lure actually once was with a different color but still 3 times??? my rod is a 7' MF avid w/ a chronarch 51mg on it.. please help i would of lost my rods virginity if not due to this problem it's still fishless...
  22. just took my set-up fishing this morning at 7-12 at a local lake loved it got used to the reel really fast, the only thing was that i lost 2 keeper and above stripers due to poor hook sets and was wondering if it was my 7' avids fault or the lure??? im a pretty experienced fisherman so my hooksets a pretty good just dont know why i lost 2 fish that i usually catch... btw i was using a 1/2 ratltrap and a x-rap, but on the bright side i had a second rod set-up with anchovies and brought in a nice 30incher other than that the first fishing experience with a baitcaster set-up was pretty fun.. also is the chronarch supposed to flick so much water onto my hands and reel and the bar where the eye of the spool slide had some white grease gunk on it is this normal??
  23. T-rig or C-rig will be weedless you can also find some weedless hooks, but if you rig the end of the hook back up into the senko it will be weedless, check out how to rig t-rig its fairly easy
  24. just got back from spring break and guess what!!! the mail came... i received my 7'MF avid w/ the chronarch 51mg i bought on tackleware house, im pretty excited but still pretty scared because im new to baitcasting don't know how its going to work out... well im planning to switch over to baitcasting with this set-up so i guess practice better make perfect wish me luck...
