What Do You Use A Heavy Rod For?
I do a lot of fishing with plastics and getting bigger into jigs. A MH rod has always done fine for me. I typically fish my spinnerbaits and smaller plastics on medium rods. I throw a ML spinning rod in there too. Anyway, a MH has done fine for me so far. I dont throw anything bigger than a 1/2oz jig but may do a little of that. Sometimes I feel like the 1/2oz jig is a little heavy but it has been ok so far and the rod says it can handle well over that. Would you suggest a Heavy action rod for 1/2 oz jigs? What else do you use a heavy action for? I think I am mostly asking to feed my rod addiciton.

Lews Rod
I know Lews Reels get a lot of love but how are their rods? I was looking at the TP-1 and the Speed Stick Lite HM85. I have held one in my hands and LOVED the grip but I havent heard much about the rods. Anyone have any experience?

Do You Ever Retire A Lure?
My dyslexia is getting me, lol. I thought it said Retie. I would have looked like a goof if I responded to that. I would only retire a lure if it had a strong specific memory tied to it, like a BIG bass, a kids first fish, stuff like that.

Advice About Hollow Body Frogs
Are they sticking because they are melted or just sticking together? If they are melted I would pull them out and stick some new silicone in there

Worm Recommendation For Stand-Up Jig
kicker bait fish company uses little pockets of air in the worms to help them stand upright. They are pretty rad. They are also made with jjs magic. Its absolutely how crazy it stinks. I would suggest trying them. They are pretty rad

Bps Tourney Special "a" Handle
Looks like you did a good job. If by chance you made to too small you could always get some tennis racket grip tape. It would add a little thickness while giving it a great grip.

What rod do you use for your heavy to moderate cover flipping and pitching?

Lew's Reels Or Abu Garcia
There is a small fishing store in Springfield about 5 blocks from Bass Pro that sells Lews reels. I go there all the time because they sell some stuff that Bass Pro doesnt sell, like the Lews rods and reels. The only baitcasters they carry anymore are Lews because when they sold other brands the Lews outsold them so much. Anyway, the new Lews headquarters is being built right next to the interstate and will get A LOT of exposure. Anyway... I like the Lews reels I have used. I have a $100 lews reel that casts incredibly. I however feel as thought he Revo S's I own have more power. I like both and I would suggest either reel to anyone

Jig Fishing Summer Mornings
I would be throwing the jig, along with a T Rig, maybe a frog and a spinnerbait. Sounds like a great scenario to fish

Anyone Not Care About There Combos Appearance Or Colors?
I like my stuff to look good, that being said, how it preforms is the most important part. If it looks good, awesome! If I cant decide between 2 then sure looks may help make the decision. I like things to be odd and stick out too. That is just me though. I just got some neon wrap for my rod handles. I know I will get ragged on by my friends cause they wont like it, but who cares what other people think? It sure makes it easier finding it in a rod locker though!

Fish-Catching Method For My Girlfriend
When I started, I used a 2" chartreuse grub with a 1/16 oz jig head. I would cast and reel. Caught a lot of fish, crappie, bluegill, and bass. That is what I would suggest. Its a good starter

Rod For Flippin And Pitchin
To clarify, I dont fish anywhere with really heavy mats. I also have quite a few MH rods and not any Heavy, which is why I am leaning toward heavy. But I dont know if a heavy would just be overkill. I have a 7'3" MH ***. Anyone have experience with the 7'3" H ***?

Rod For Flippin And Pitchin
I have a 7'6" Team Daiwa Light and Tough Telescopic Flipping stick that I adore, but I would like to have a 2nd stick so I can have a jig and plastic both ready for flipping and pitching. Not looking for anything longer than 7'3"... I am strongly considering the Heavy action *** *** Black, but also interested in looking at the Duckett rods. Any suggestions?

Hook Set For Soft Plastics
I agree with RDJ on how to rig it, with going all the way through the bait and tucking the hook right under the skin of the bait. When you say it bunches up, are you talking about the top of the bait comes down and bunches up? I have had that happen more often than I would like. I feel like it hinders the hook up ratio a lot. I watched a video this winter about using a little bit of THICK mono and sticking it through the plastic, through the eye of the hook and then again through the other side of the plastic. He says the thick mono is stiff enough to keep the bait in place a bit better. I keep remembering when I am out at the pond when the extra line is at home. About to go find the line and throw it in the tackle bag.

Abu Warranty Question.
It doesnt just need to be a spare for the kids. I was packing everything up and moving home from college when i closed my car door and broke an inch off one of my favorite rods. I replaced the tip and it works just as well if not better than when it was whole.

Curado I On Tackle Warehouse
Im wondering if they are dropping the price of the Curado to make it closer to the Citica price... The Citica is no longer on the Bass Pro site or TW, so maybe they are trying to discontinue that and lower the curado price to take the place. Its lower for the Curado and a bit higher than the citica (about the middle of both) May just be going with one there instead of two. Did that make sense?

Abu Garcia Veritas Vs St. Croix Mojo
I have a 7' MH in both the Veritas and Mojo. I prefer the Veritas much more. The Veritas is lighter and more sensitive in my opinion. The Mojo feels more solid like it will hold up longer (heard a lot about Veritas rods breaking) but I have had a veritas for 2 years with no issues and another one I got last year. I prefer the Veritas, but that is just me. There are a handful of really nice $100 rods out there, including the BPS Extreme and Carbonlight and the *** ***. I would recommend though, if you like the Veritas, why change?
