Someone please help me with this crankbait
The eye is what made me immediately think it was a strike king. If you have any old bass pro catalogs maybe you could look for the color in there. Maybe you could have someone custom paint it too. IT would be expensive, but you could have your lure again. just an idea

Rage Tail baits - the next generation
Im really interested in these new baits. I have nott fished the rage tail baits yet, but went out and got some 10" anacondas for night fishing and deep fishing at Kentucky Lake. Do you just fish the space monkey like a craw or creature? Looks a little like a frog to me.

Falcon Rods- Big Cranker
HEy all, Im currently looking for a new cranking rod. I am going to get a falcon rod for sure, just not sure which one. Anyone ever use the Falcon original or Low Rider Big Cranker? I want to throw 1/4 oz to 3/4 oz crankbaits and spinnerbaits. Will this work? Its a MH rod. I could also go for the Mansfield model which is suppose to be for crankbaits and SPinner baits from 1/4-1/2 oz. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance

New Reel Purchase Advice
I love my Citica. Adclem, I had a proo qualifier for about 13 months and it was great, but one day it just froze. I tried everything to fix it, but the handle was frozen, almost like it was super glued. I have a Bass Pro extreme which has plastic gears that were chewed up by a screw falling out inside the reel. No clue how that happened, those 2 problems within 2 weeks have shied me away from bass pro reels. TXbass, I got an Ardent Reel 2 years ago, they are a little more expensive than you are looking for, but very dependable. They have a flip-n-pitch for $150 or another nice reel for $170. those are the cheaper ones. I heard some people say they would by these reels cause they are US made, but one of the main reasons I bought it was after some bass pro reels breaking after about 13-15 months, the ardents have a 3 year warrenty. You mentioned you want something that will last, I think the ardent is a little more expensive, but they are great.

New rod and reel for Cranking, but dont have much money.
I had an Extreme which somehow had a screw get loose and fall out inside of the reel. It got into the plastic gears and chewed them up really bad. Then I had a pro qualifier which just wouldnt even reel, it just stopped, couldnt do anything. Those kinda ruined my Bass Pro reel experiences. The plastic gears are really what I dont like. I appreciate the idea thought.

Help me build 3 combos please.
I would recommend Bass Pros Extreme or Bionic Blade rods. Extremes are $100 and Bionic Blades are $80. They are actually on sale now, just saw, Bionic blades are $50 and Extremes are $80. I think they are really excellent. I would stay away from Bass Pro reels thought. I have a Citica too, you may look at getting another one if you like yours now. I personally love mine. I have an ardent reel too, very very nice. bass Pro has the ardent Flip-n-Pitch, it would probably be ideal for jig fishing. They are American made with a 3 year warranty. I personally love my ardent, casts like a dream and is very smooth.

New rod and reel for Cranking, but dont have much money.
I am looking for a new reel, one for crankbaits and spinnerbaits. Only problem is that im in college and dont have much money to spend, so I was looking for a reel that is at most $120. I have a newer citica with the 6.3:1 gear ratio and an Ardent reel a few years ago when they first came to be popular. I have used those interchangeably with Bass Pro Extreme rods. My arms get tired really quickly when using those to crank. I would like something with a gear ratio in the 5s. I have been looking at the Shimano Cardiff and Abu Garcia Round Bait cast reels. I have never used a round baitcast reel so I am not sure if they are good for cranking our not, but they seem to be the only reels with a 5. something gear ratio. My Uncle, who got me into fishing and is the only person I really know who fishes does not have any Abu Garcia Reels, but alot of Shimano, which makes me more interested in the Cardiff, but I dont know for sure. I dont want to make a mistake, $120 is way to much to make a mistake with. I had 2 Bass Pro Baitcasting reels which broke just after a year of use, so Im staying away from them. Their rods I really like thought and was looking at the crankin Stick. Are Round Reels ok for cranking or are low profile better? Any suggestions of Reels? I appreciate any ideas and advice. Ive already learned alot in the short time i've been a member here!

whats your two favorite shakey head worms?
I have only tried the Powerbait shakey worm and zoom shakey head worms. I have fished more of the zoom cause they come in a 20 pack and being a poor college student, they are more affordable. I have caught alot of fish on them though, a few 3 lbers, one 5. I just started fishing them this year, but they have become a confidence bait for me. I like the watermelon red. I am interested in hearing what other people use too. but Zoom is my top choice. Just recently found some Magnum Shakey head worms from zoom, havent had the chance to use yet, but look like they are gonna be amazing

the panic box
When im in a pickle I throw a 3/16 oz green pumpkin pro spot remover, with a watermelon red zoom shakey head worm. Or a cinnamon purple zoom super speed craw with a 2/0 ewg hook and either 1/8 oz or 1/4 oz weight, Texas rigged of course.

Night Fishing Favorite Bait
Yeah I dont want to use a topwater even if they will work really well, its just to dangerous with 3 people in the boat. Safety first!

Night Fishing Favorite Bait
What color of Rattletrap do you normally use? I know its normally a dark color for night, but would a chrome blue work?

Paca Craw question - wrong hook size?
I use 3/0 EWG hooks on both the baby and full size Paca Craws. Ive started to use the zoom super speed craw which has a very similar action, with a lean body and have not missed many fish. I will need to go with the 4/0 on the full size Paca Craw.

Favorite Plastics
Zoom Super Speed Craw in Cinnamon Purple! Small profile with great action. I can use it on a baitcaster or spinning rod. Or the Zoom Shakey Head Worm in Watermelon Red. Those two have recently become my comfort baits where I have a lot of confidence.

seen this senko color???
I know that zoom made the Z-nail, which was like their senko, but I dont know if they still make it, and im not sure if they ever made it in the blackberry color. Maybe you could find some in a discount bin somewhere, I know the bass pro outlet in Springfield Missouri had a lot of them for 50 cents a pack a few years ago. I was looking at their Speed worms and ultravibe speed worm and they look just like a senko with a tail, if you could find some of them in blackberry, you could just snip the tail off and it may work. just and idea.

Jig and Trailer Question
I go to Kentucky Lake every year and we end up fishing the humps out about 12-20 feet deep id say. I have tried cranking but get so fed up and tired. I need a rod and reel for cranking. Anyway, I have heard good stuff about the Jewel Jigs and having a brush hog trailer. My questions are, 1. What size should I use? 2. Finesse jig or Heavy cover jig? 3.And for the trailer, when talking about a brush hog, do they mean the full size or baby? A full size sounds kinda big to me, if it is a full size, do you crop some of it off? I appreciate all of your ideas! You all are going to help me learn a lot through this site. Thanks!

Night Fishing Favorite Bait
I go to Kentucky Lake in early June every year and we always do quite a bit of night fishing. Its been really good the past few years. A few years ago I did really well on a big black and purple single Colorado Spinner bait, but it has not worked since. We have done pretty well on full size brush hogs and Paca Craws too. Any other ideas? What do you all like to use a lot of? Im a little worried about using a jitterbug which I have heard is good, but dont like the idea of using it at night, to dangerous with three in the boat (and I'm usually in the middle). Thanks

New From Missouri
Hi guys, I'm John. Im from Missouri, from the St. Louis area so there is really nowhere that I know of close by that is good bass fishing. I go to Kentucky Lake every year, so thats my big fishing week, have a little tournament with my Uncle and cousin. Only 22, so hopefully I can start to get into some small fun tournaments when I am out of school.
