  1. I would look at the Bass Pro Graphite Series rods. They are pretty nice for $40 each. For the 2nd baitcaster I would probably get a 6'6" Medium to throw some spiinerbaits and crankbaits. You could also throw the plastics on there. I would probably go about 14 lb test line on that. For your other spinning rod, I would go 6'6" MH rod. you could throw alot on there (Crankbaits, jigs, Carolina Rig) I would go with 12-14 lb test on there. Thats just me. With the Trion and M Lightning rod you should look at getting some finesse worms and spot remover jigs. Throw the shakey head on that all day. You will catch you some fish. Good Luck, let us know how you are doing. I hope this helps
  2. Im about to get a Veritas. I have a Bass Pro Extreme from about 8 years ago thats been great for me.
  3. Gonna get a Veritas rod for jig and plastics, thiking 7' MH. Now, do I get the micro guides or regular? I just dont know. Ive never tried the micro guides, so I dont know what the difference is in them. I plan on doing more casting than pitching, but there will be quite a bit of pitching too. Does that make any difference? Their just so dang small. Thanks guys.
  4. I have 2 Bass Pro Extreme Rods that I absolutley love. I also really like the older bionic blades, which I think are on clearance at bass pro.
  5. I think the idea of fishing at night really would help. When I was first starting off, I fished at night quite a bit and I feel like it helped me alot. I feel like i grew alot as a fisherman because i fished at night. I would suggest in the summer trying some night fishing.
  6. are all of the sales on the internet the same as in store?
  7. I use a twin tail grub as a trailer at night. Other than that, no trailers
  8. probably just overspooled
  9. I agree with Mike L. I really like spot removers. They are tough to use when your throwing thick baits though cause they dont have an extra wide gap. If Im using those Strike king worms that strech 10xs their own length I will use the strike king shakeys though. You cant get those extra soft baits on the screw keeper
  10. I have a Diawa S Finesse spinning rod, which according to the bass pro website they do not have anymore. I also have an old Bass Pro bionic blade which has been golden for me. I really like Bass Pro rods (Not reels). I think the Extreme and bionic blades are both really nice rods that are pretty light and sensetive. I would suggest an extreme or bionic blade
  11. I got a Revo S. Almost got a Veritas. Tryin to wait for the rod trade in though
  12. Im about to get the Revo S and im having trouble deciding what rod to get, but I think imma get the Veritas cause they are both white. I think it will be very sharp
  13. I have taken a Zebco and they were happy to take it
  14. Your all good. No worries. YOu made a good point about the Abu rod. So many people like it, why not give it a go?
  15. I havent been on the site in over a year, I got a new computer and was like, i gotta get back on this beast. Didnt realize it didnt come up so frequently. Sorry, but I have been leaning toward the Veritas. Thanks for the reply bud!
  16. Do you like the Skeet Reese micro guide rod? I was thinking about micro guides. That was another one I had considered
  17. I plan on getting a new Revo S, but I dont know what to do about the Rod. I want to throw Brush Hogs, Paca Craws, big worms and some 1/4-1/2 oz jigs. I dont wanna spend much more than $100 if possible. Also, It will be for casting and pitching. I have a flipping stick for when I am really in the flipping/pitching mode. I was looking at the Abu Garcia Veritas, but I have read that alot of them are breaking so that has me a little worried, but still interested. I was also considering the Falcon BuCoo. Next issue, what size and action? Should I go for a fast action? mod fast? I just dont really know about it. Any help or suggestions would be awesome. Thanks guys and gals!
  18. i dont see why you couldnt. I think the only difference is that you know the actual weight your putting in with the nailweight
  19. Ive made some of my own using old altoid can lids. The ones ive made seem to give off even more action and have not broken at all. good baits!
  20. Anybody Know if you can get JJs Magic anywhere here in st Louis?
  21. Has anyone ever tried the zoom meat head for s really finesse bite? Ive thought about it but never tried it. Theres a brand in Kentucky named Charmer that has worms that are not salt impregnated so they float straight up on a jig head too.
  22. IM in St. Louis too. Where do yall fish in your bass club? can i get some information too?
  23. good deal. There are two sports authorities in my area. last one i went to had no fishing stuff anymore. a bit disappointed, but I will check the other one.
  24. Ive done really well on a zoom centipede. I like a regular zoom finesse worm as well though. Just started throwing the strike king 3x style worm. It seems cool since it stands straight up, but i worry about skin hooking it cause im not sure if the plastic will rip enough to allow the fish to get the hook in its mouth.
  25. How do most of yall fish them? Ive got a pack and put them on a shakey head but to me, its necessary to use an EWG jig head. I was thinking about trying weightless texas rig like the senko. Is that a good way to do it?
