Anyone Used The Diawa Exceler Spinning Reel
I love mine. I have 2 that are super smooth. I've used them for about 5 years now. I would suggest them for sure.

Abu Garcia V-Series Rods Breaking?
I have had 2 Veritas and 3 Vendettas. Had 1 Vendetta break while casting a weightless worm. I got it when they had them for like $30 at Walmart so I am going to sum it up as a Walmart break. People there dont take care of stuff, so that is why I would blame the break on that. Anyway. The other vendettas have not broken and the 2 Veritas have not broken. Have not had any issues with the Veritas and they were work horses with jigs and plastics. One has been the workhorse for 2 years, the other I got last year and it held up just as well. No issues, love the veritas rods A LOT!

Wiggle Warts Question
I feel like they got better that they were about 10 years ago. They went with the more Retro look in packages since then, I think that was when they went back to the old molds, or something like that. But I agree with the others. Just get yourself some of these Wiggle Warts. They are good baits and will catch fish.

My Book Just Got Published!
My book just got published! Stoked to have it done. I am thinking after this series I may do an outdoor book with fishing in it... Not positive yet but there is a chance.

Lake Fork Tackle Plastics
Well I will board the Live Magic Shad train too. That thing has a very nice action. But I have used some of thier other baits. I have used their creature in the past. I used the babies a LONG while ago. I have so many different baits that I never remember I have them. But they do work well. The baits all have a stong garlic scent that stays with them. I have used the Bigger Creature too, but I really only threw that at night. The goofy boot tail kicking legs and the tail work well and put off quite a bit of movement that helped get me some bites at night. I may get myself some more this year because this post helped me remember them, thanks. haha. I have also used the Ring Fry. I used the 4" model on a shakey head. I was out catching my tournament partner 5-1. It was awesome, not sure what it was about it. I had an older pack and a newer pack (different packaging) The green pumpkin color was different between the two. The newer color was a bit more opaque. It didnt work nearly as well as the first pack of worms, but it has caught fish. Anyway, I do like the baits and I feel like Lake Fork Tackle makes some solid soft plastics and I would suggest to try them. I have not tried any of the jointed ones except the Live Magic Shad. The others look like they would be torn apart pretty quick. but from the two others I have used, I would suggest them. Very strong scent, and I feel like the ribbed design on the two i used helps to create a realistic feeling

What Is A Short Stout Rod Good For?
My Uncle has a rod that is very similar to the rod you are describing. He said that he got it cause there was one of the big time pros at that time had said it was the "Best Spinnerbait Rod ever made!" He doest like it and I dont like it, for spinnerbait at least. It is too dang stiff and has no tip. I dont like the little pistol grip either. Anyway, sounds like it could be made for spinnerbaits. I prefer a rod with some bend for spinnerbaits.

Anyone Know Anything About This Lure?
Havent planned on fishing it. About 10 years ago my Mom picked up a GIANT old double sided tackle box. This bait was in there, along with an older looking heddon crankbait with a metal lip. The Heddon looks in near perfect shape. The Dingbat isnt in great shape. It looks like there are some cracks on the bottom, but other than that its pretty nice. Its a cool looking bait. Even though I will never throw it, I always wonder if these baits would work better than some of the newer baits. None of the fish alive now have probably ever seen anything like a Dingbat, when they may have seen a Pop-R 50 days a year. You never know... The old baits caught fish back in the day, why would they not work anymore? Like I said, none of these fish have seen some of these older baits, they may hit it cause it is new to them. Anyway, I wont use the Dingbat, but it is pretty cool and I am sure it would catch some fish.

Rod Sleeve's Scott's Or Cole's
90% of mine are Bass Pro ones. They are not bad. I have had a few smaller eyes pop out of them, so I put my better ones on the smaller guides. I actually just saw a few at Walmart for $3. I got one of the Spinning Reel ones so I didnt have to worry too much about smaller guides poking out. After looking at them side to side, they are nearly the same. The Walmart one may be an inch shorter, but that is the only difference I see other than the color. I will pick up another one, for baitcasters and see how it compares. The smaller guides on the BC may not work as well with the Walmart ones, we will see... They are only $3 so I am not super concerned.

Anyone Know Anything About This Lure?
It says Dingbat on the back. Searched it a little but not much. I believe it's an old Creek Chub bait. I figure if anyone would know about it, it would be someone here. Thanks

A Cool Classic Release From Mann's
I was thinking very similar. But i Think it would require a bit more than a slit. Maybe cut a big chunk out of the middle.

Ike Rods
Justin Lucas said they are awesome, but he's sponsored by Abu, so cant put too much stock into that I guess.
-
Abu Garcia Veritos
Veritas are pretty stiff rods. I would consider at very least a Medium for weightless plastics

Cush-It Big Bass Rod Float
1st thing, after watching some of the videos before i got it, I didnt see anything said about putting vasoline or soap on the inside of the Cush-it, so I was kinda annoyed to see that you were suppose too. So I tried to put it on without the Vasoline or soap. That was a No go. I put very very very little vasoline on the inside of it, like as little as possible and it made a world of difference. It made it a million times easier to put on and take off. So I warmed up to that, but that little layer of vasoline is removed when putting it on a super tight fitting rod. So this is not a Buy 3 and just switch them to the rods you are using and keep changing out throughout the day. That would be a big hassle. I was really interested in puttting it on my 7'3" *** Black/ Daiwa Advantage HSTA combo. AS soon as I put it on it felt like it balanced the rod out amazingly. I love the way that joker feels with that Cush-It on there. It also feels very good on your side, as I did some practice hooksets. I have yet to take it fishing as I just got it and its like an ice rink outside right now. First impression is a good one. I am thinking I may order one or two more... I just wish they had a better color selection than silver, baby blue, yellow and pink.

Citica?
The Citica has been a great reel throught the years. So my question is, Where the thunder is it? I thought after seeing it disappear off Bass Pro and TW and other websites, I thought there would be a new model being introduced at the Classic, but that didnt happen. Did they discontinue it? I wouldnt think they would get rid of such a popular reel at an affordable price... Anyone have any news on the Citica?

Cush-It Big Bass Rod Float
Only thing I dont like about it so far is that it says to puut vasoline or soap on the inside to lubricate it. Dont really like the idea of putting vasoline on the rod of the butt. We will see...

Cush-It Big Bass Rod Float
Just got my Cush-It in the mail. Gonna stick it on a rod tonight and see how it feels. Its not as big as I expected. Gonna see if it helps the balance. When the water is not frozen I will be able to go out there and see if it really does increase sensitivity, or if those jokers are making stuff up.

Swimbait Setup
I've been looking at getting a Big rod for BIG baits, like the new Spro Rat. The one I am looking at is the Lews American Hero Rods. The Heavy rod is 7'6" and is rated up to 6 oz.

Good Reel For Crank Baits
I always thought a lipless crank was suppose to be fished with a faster reel and then Deep Cranks with a slower reel. Maybe I am mistaken on the lipless... I would think something in the 6s would be good all around.

Overhead Cast With Baitcaster
Don't throw it as hard as you can. Also make sure you are casting smooth. Those are two very important things you need to keep in mind while learning. It takes time but soon you will get better. And with every backlash, you get better at takiing those out too. So the more you practice, the more you get better with two things.
