Cooking a steak properly has to do with the cut of meat and the chef; the best I've ever ate was a ribeye cooked by Ricky Perioux owner of Pat's of Henderson Lake Charles. Louisiana. Now I must admit this was cooked on an outdoor pit at my camp on Toledo Bend As far the Mojita you can keep it, I'll take a Southern Mint Julep especially one made with a Tennessee sour mash bourbon, such as Jack Daniels.

It is said that defenses win championships; out of 4 games USC is ranked 35th in points allowed per game, 3 of which were against unranked teams. Nebraska who is the only ranked team USC has played so far and they racked up 420 total yards with 31 points. USC Defense Points per game: 19.8 Yards per game 277.5 Total points: 79 Total pass yards: 817 Total rush yards: 293 At 35th USC is the highest rank PAC 10 team and that my friend is not a top caliber conference. With a playoff system it would be doubtful that USC would even be in the playoffs

I totally got beat up this weekend, I usually don't miss more than 2 or 3 but this time it's 14/22. It's absolutely insane with little boys beating up on the big boys and the big boys shooting themselves in the foot over and over. Another prime example why there has to be a playoff system

I think what's confusing is that many companies are placing specific names on rods like Senko Special, Top Water, Spinner Bait Special, or what ever. This teaches young anglers to never take the time to learn what a Medium, Medium Heavy, ect rod is and why it is classified as such. I never pay attention to the names but look instead at line rating and lure weight class. I have rods classified as Inshore Saltwater or Coastal, they work just fine in freshwater. Just the opposite many Speckle Trout and Red Fish anglers are learning that these fish can be caught with bass Rods/Reels and with bass lures.

My first bass fishing trip was in 1961 with my dad on Lacassine National Wildlife Refuge where I watched he catch a 5 lb bass on a top water which was totally unbelievable. Later that day while eating lunch I noticed some thing weird between the wooden floor slats of the rented wooden hull boat, after a couple minutes I retrieved a Crème Scoundrel worm black with two yellow strips. After questioning my dad about he showed me how to rig it on a weedless hook, I toss it out and forgot about while eating my ham sandwich. I was looking around when all a sudden I noticed a line of weeds just lying over like something was swimming though them. I thinking now that weird when I hear my dad yelling you've got a bite and I realize it's my line causing the weeds to lay over as a bass was swimming off with my new found worm. I grab my rod, set the hook, & reel in a fat 2 lb bass. Needless to say I'm still hooked on worm fishing to this day
