Funnyest Fishing Memory.
One Friday I was night fishing with my nephew who is a flight engineer in the Air Force when I hear this huge splash, I look back only to see is his butt and legs sticking up in the air. He does how ever have a death grip with both hands on the side of the boat and pulls himself back up only to slip in again due to wet hands. Well Monday morning I get a phone call from Tinker Air Force Base, it's my nephew, and the base doctor has grounded him for having bruised ribs. I still chuckle every time I picture that in my head

Texas rig questions
I was introduced to the Texas Rig back in 1972 while the equipment has changed the technique is still the same. The Texas Rig was originally designed to fish a plastic worm but today it is used with any type of soft plastic. The Texas Rig and deep water (15' +) structure 1) Make a long cast 2) Strip 3 or 4 arms length of line, this will assure a vertical fall 3) Count the bait down, 15' of water count to 20 to make certain the bait is on the bottom, do it in your head if need be 4) Pause a good 30 seconds after the bait reaches bottom 5) Lower your rod to the 3 o'clock position while reeling slack & feel for anything unusual 6) Move the rod from 3 o'clock to 1 o'clock in three motions 7) Pause 30 seconds & feel for anything unusual 8) Repeat 5, 6, & 7 all the way back to the boat 9) If at any time you feel a noticeable tap, tug, line tighten, heaviness, or see line movement. 10) Without hesitation drop the rod, reel the slack, and set the hook

Spray on Attractant/Scent?
I use attractants for two purposes first as a lubricant because I fish in grass a lot and the attractant helps my plastic baits slide through easier. I use Fish Formula II or Baitmate (clear) with a ½ oz of pure anise oil added; this is to mast any odor my plastic may have pick up.

Toledo Bend
Friday June 22nd sun rise will be at 6:12 am, I would plan on being anchored on that spot at 5:30 am, tournament start time is 7:00 am. I know a certain angler and if he's fishing this tournament he will be on this spot before day light. I'm not one to bad mouth anyone but if you were to be on this spot before him it would I'd be tickled pink; I can promise you on day 2 he'll be there at 5:00 am. I've never stayed at Pleasure Bend Camp Ground but what I've heard is good, I will more than likely stay at the Sportsman.

I'm scheduled off on the 21st & 22nd Matt have y'all decided on where to stay? Coming in from your direction you would be better off stopping in Center; Hemphill has Brookshire Brothers with gas pumps. The only problem I see is that with the Big Bass Splash there will be no less than 1,000 boats on the lake with most being in the Housen'/6-Mile area. My preliminary though was to show Matt a couple spots on the 21st and the show Larry around on the 22nd. Matt the reason I asked if you had an anchor and Q-beam was if you are going to fish these spots you had better be on them before daylight. Tommy T

TOWING BOAT ON HIGHWAY WITH SEATS ON
I drop mine down both on the water and on the hwy; after 35+ years you see some weird things happen. Try catching a bow seat before it goes by at 60 mph, it'll leave burses

Pimping my ride...
15 years in the Aerospace Industry taught me how to properly install wiring, every connection is environmentally sealed, and every thing is wrapped into a wire bundle. Aint nothing worse when night fishing than trying to diagnose a wiring problem
