why wont it work on my lake???
Lake Conroe is located approximately one hour north of downtown Houston (via IH-45). Extending 21 miles in length and covering 21,000 surface acres, Lake Conroe is the reserve drinking water supply for the City of Houston and offers clean, clear water for a large variety of recreation (boating, fishing, hunting, golfing, swimming, water skiing, jet skiing, pleasure boating, etc.). The surrounding land owners have weird obsession with controlling the hydrilla in the lake, their point of view is the lake was created for drinking water not fish.

Subject: fishing creek channels and bluffs
I would follow Ronnie's advice I would also fish the same bait on the creek channel edge opposite of the bluff; look for under water points, ridges, any thing out of the ordinary. While all of the structure may appear to be the same I can assure is not so find any thing out of the ordinary. Fish slow & methodically

Water clarity and lure color
I don't let water color or any thing else dictate what color bait I use; I have 5 or 6 colors that are proven to catch so I throw them. To many time people think they must follow strict rules in order to catch bass; why not let the bass tell you if they like dark colors in clear water or light colors in murky water. The bass never get it wrong

young fisherman
Zack, First here is a web link to some aerial photos of the Texas side of Toledo Bend including Frontier Park. Frontier Park is fifty acres on beautiful Carrice Creek. Shaded sites, pool, paddle boat and canoe rental, club house, pavilion, bank fishing, boat ramps and slips. Carrice is where Tommy Martin lives and it would be a excellent place to start fishing for someone who doesn't know the lake. Located just south of Carrice is Palo Gaucho Creek another outstanding big fish area. Let me know when you will be fishing the lake so I can give you some techniques to use http://www.toledo-bend.us/index.shtml?aerial2

What Baits have produced Sharelunkers?
Listed under plastic Senko 8 Sluggos 7 Lizard/brush hogs/ creature baits, and lizards dominated by name 66 Worm/plastics 61 Craw worms 23 Total: 165 It would be safe to say these were Texas, Carolina, & Wacky Knowing those Texans they would probably say plastic instead of a specific bait

Sight fishing yes or no
I agree with Fish Chris on this one, not only have I read articles like In-Fisherman but studies by fisheries biologist. I have a close friend Roger Conner who has built, stocked and maintained the trophy bass lakes in South West Louisiana (Lake of the Gum Coves & Black Lake Marsh). These lakes produced double digit bass on a consist bases in an area not known for DD bass. Both lakes are a series of smaller lakes; some connected by canals while some are not. Roger working with biologist has caught 10 lb+ bass during the pre-spawn (fish were on the nest but had not laid eggs) and moved the bass from one lake to the next. The females that were moved coupled with a new male, moved in on a nest and spawned.
