  8. Take that little Carolina Rig with about a 8-12" leader & a lizard. Drag it into a bed, see what big momma thinks.
  9. Don't shy away from lighter weights & shallow water. Down here we throw 3/8 or 1/2 oz weights in water less than 15' during pre-spawn. We still throw lizards, baby brush hogs, & French Fries.

  11. I have 4 ea 3500 series boxes One is bullet weights from 1/16-3/8 oz., nail weights, & bobber stops. One has flipping-n-pitching-n-punch weights which double as Carolina Rig weights. Beads, swivels, & bobber stops. One has straight shank hooks, offset round bend, & EWG hooks. Weedless Neko hooks, Wacky hooks. One has heavier punch hooks If I ain't punching or Carolina Rigging I don't carry all that extra weight.

  13. Start where you launch, learn that area by fishing it from pre-spawn to pre-spawn. Then expand outwards from there.
  14. I have 2 Cardiff 100s & no they shouldn't make any noise. Take it apart, clean everything, & relubricate everything.
  15. Louisiana Senior License $5.00 Covers freshwater, saltwater, & all species hunting. Doesn't cover federal duck stamps or deer tags.
  16. And interpretation! Many newbies struggle interpreting what they're feeling. I started out in the G Loomis camp until I picked up a Shimano Crucial. Don't notice a drop of in sensitive. I do have 50+ years of night fishing which will greatly enhance your interpretation of what you're feeling.
  17. Lot of confusion going on. Expensive doesn't necessarily equate to light weight or sensitivity. My Worm Rod is a Powell Inferno it weighs in at 4.25 ozs. & cost $99.99. My Jig Rod is a Dawia Tatula it's as sensitive as any, cost $149.99. My personal opinion sensitivity has more to do with who is holding the rod.

  22. Inexpensive, don't worry about losing em, use the money savings on more important items.
  23. What technique should be your best rod? All of them! ? Can't tell ya how many bass I've caught on a spinnerbait because I felt the blades stop turning. Or how many times I avoided having a crankbait hang up because I felt the line rubbing on a limb.
  24. I have a Diawia Tatula TTU731MHFB, 7' 3" Medium Heavy Fast, rated for 1/4-1 oz. I use it for flipping-n-pitching, light punching up to 3/4 oz, & Stanley Rabbits/Zoom's Horny Toad.
