  1. K.I.S.S. plus I don't gotta read all that B.S.!
  2. Why cables? Most docks here are built over shallow water with 8-10' being average. The lakes fluctuations around 4-6' is extreme & wave action 2-4'. One also has to consider what body of water we're talking about.
  3. To continue, from the hand the vibration moves up your arm & then into the brain. The brain is the most important piece, it has to determine if what is being felt is fish or false alarm. If y'all are waiting to see line movement or rod it movement y'all be late! Second most important is the hand, some people's hands can detect smaller vibrations than others. It's like the old saying, it ain't the arrow, it's the Indian!
  4. Down here "floating" dock do just that, they float up & down with the lake level. The post keep them from floating off.
  5. A bass picking up your lure does not stretch mono. A bass picking up your lure does not flex your rod.
  6. Zoom's Ultravibe Speed Craw
  7. This is what our floating docks look like. The floats are plastic & interlock, no gaps to skip into. The only docks we can fish are the ones built on pilings.
  8. Floating docks here have no openings to skip a lure into. You can cast parallel to the dock but not much else.

My dog is in recovery so he made a list to God on things he will change. Dear God: Let me give you a list of just some of the things I must remember to be a good dog. 1. I will not eat the cats' food before they eat it or after they throw it! up. 2. I will not roll-on dead seagulls, fish, crabs, etc., just because I like the way they smell. 3. The Litter Box is not a cookie jar. 4. The sofa is not a 'face towel'. 5. The garbage collector is not stealing our stuff. 6. I will not play tug-of-war with Dad's underwear when he's on the toilet. 7. Sticking my nose into someone's crotch is an unacceptable way of saying "hello". 8. I don't need to suddenly stand straight up when I'm under the coffee table. 9. I must shake the rainwater out of my fur before entering the house - not after. 10. I will not come in from outside and immediately drag my butt. 11. I will not sit in the middle of the living room and lick my crotch. 12. The cat is not a 'squeaky toy' so when I play with him and he makes that noise, it's usually not a good thing. P.S. Dear God: When I get to Heaven may I have my testicles back?
  10. It's 100% personal preference I didn't select Medium Heavy X-Fast for its casting abilities. I selected it for it's hook setting abilities.
  11. Medium Heavy X-Fast is all I've used for worms/jigs since 2005. My perfered length is 6' 10" but currently my worm rod is 7' & my jig rod is 7' 1".
  12. Legendary angler Mark Pack was known for targeting suspected bass with a weightless M-Pack Shad (7" Fluke style). Try counting that down 25-30' while holding the boat in place with your trolling motor.
  13. I have 3 ruptured disc & torn ligaments in my lower back. After 4 hrs of laying down I have to get up regardless of when I laid down. That's usually 3:30-4:30 am.
  14. We have to consider the storm. Hurricane Harvey dumped 60.58 inches of rain near Nederland, Texas. The flooding was a direct result of rainfall which is freshwater. Hurricane Katrina had a tidal surge of 28', this flooding is saltwater & is completely devastating.
  15. Temperatures are dealers choice Rinse "thoroughly" & wipe down with a microfiber cloth. Disassemble, clean, & lubricate on a routine bases.
  16. Don't know what reels ya using but mine are designed to get wet...even on the inside. Everything I fish is "brackish" to a degree plus I use my bass tackle for catching Specks-n-Reds in saltwater. Personally I prefer slightly warmer than lukewarm to dissolve the salt. Oh by the way clean your rod & any hard baits you used.
  17. Aug 20 th 2020 hurricane Laura winds between 150-175. We sent 26 days without electricity. Oct 4 th 2020 hurricane Delta winds 143. Definitely praying for y'all!
  18. Depends on the amount of tidal surge. Hurricane Rita's tidal surge devastated one of our local marshes. My brother, nephew, & I visited it a couple months later & the was no life period. Hurricane Laura put enough trees in a local river that all the sap from the trees turned the water black & caused a major fish kill.
  19. I carry a Old Timer Model 1520T Sharpfinger that was my Dad's. Can't even tell y'all how old it is.
  20. Was it the seller's rod? If not can he verify it was never abused? Mine were second generation
  21. Green Pumpkin Purple Swirl
  22. Sorry but a used rod ain't something I wanna buy. There can be damage unseen to the naked eye.
