Everything you mentioned can be seen during daylight. Bright bluebird day the bait are in the cover. Overcast days they're more out in the open. It doesn't matter if you're fishing in the day or at night you have to consider all the conditions.

No they ain't! ? It's called structure fishing, I don't care if your fishing a mile offshore or dirt shallow, if you're successful you are fishing structure. Elwood "Buck" Perry taught us offshore structure fishing. Successful anglers realized the key wasn't "offshore", the key was structure. @RHuff My suggestion would be to start where you have had success & broaden your search from there.

There's more to night fishing than just the moon phase. Is the sky overcast? Partly cloudy? Bluebird? Is it prefrontal, frontal, or post frontal? What time of year? Water temperatures Sounds kinda like fishing in the daylight!

@A-Jay I tend to fish "shallow" water during the full moon because I can see stumps, brush, laydowns ect easier. I tend to fish deeper offshore structure during the new moon because I don't need to visually see what I throwing at.

I have detailed records of every trip over the last 50-55 yrs. 45+ yrs of that was night fishing from April through October. I've not noticed a significant advantage with any particular moon phase. Like water temperatures, water clarity, barometric pressure, sky conditions, length of sunlight; moon phase is just another part of the equation. Being a successful angler is adapting to those constantly changing variables. I'm aware of the moon phase but I don't use it as an excuse as to why I was or wasn't successful

My issue with that worm is the head is smaller. My favorite was Gene Larew's 7 1/2" Salty Ringworm or Renegade's Ringworms. Both had a head that was 3/8-1/2" giving more plastic for the hook.

I don't night fish because I think the water temperatures are cooler or the bass feed better at night. I night fish because it's to stinking hot during the day!

Bass in clear water are primarily sight feeders. Hackney is throwing 3/4-1.25 weights which produce a fast rate of fall. Bass if offcolored water are primarily lateral line feeders. Baits that move water are productive. Anyone who has thrown Rage Tail products on heavy weights understand how much waters these baits move.

Up until this year I didn't even know how to take a selfie. The only fish pictures I care about are grandkids.
