  1. After you drop the lure through look at the loop & simply adjust the loop back towards the mainline. Takes a few seconds but you'll get faster.

I prefer a slow retrieval rate, my favorite is 5.0:1. I want that buzzbait struggling to stay on top. Now when I throw a buzzbait it's usually dark outside!
  3. If tied correctly you should be able to slide the knot down to the eye by pulling the main line & tag end effortlessly. If there's too much friction when pulling both something amiss. I chinch the knot tight by pulling just the tag end first. If you chinch it down by pulling the main line first you'll get a little "pig tail" above the eye. As for the larger loop need for large lures, once you pass the lure through the loop you can adjust the length at this point recovering line you would loose. It helps to be somewhat ambidextrous

Black or white 1/4, 3/8, or 1/2 oz Cavitron, Boogerman, Lunker Lure Klacker or not
  5. I have the TTU731MHFB 7'3" Medium Heavy Fast. I use it for throwing frogs & punching (3/4 oz). The only thing you gain using the Elite is an EVA Grip.
  6. Smash-Tech Little Weedless Bluegill
  7. Every bass is different, every bite is different, every fight is different..every hookset is the same.
  8. I can get by with 3; topwater, mid-depth, & bottom contact. My preference is 5: Texas Rig Jig-n-Craw Frog/punching Spinnerbaits, chatterbaits, lipless Crankbaits
  9. No sir I buy them locally from Lake Charles Tackle which is a half block from my house. I will check into it.
  10. Been told color doesn't matter. IDK ? Is it color or scent or both? All I know is I will be throwing it!
  11. Delta Lures Thunder Jig 3/8 or 1/2 oz 46 blade/skirt color combinations H&H rubber skirt or custom 44 strand silicone skirt. Mustad Ultra Point Hook Lake Fork Tackle Live Magic Shad
  12. I drag a worm one of three ways. #1: l drag the Texas Rig sideways like y'all would a Carolina Rig with the rod. #2: Again like the Carolina Rig but dragging with the rod tip up. #3: Dragging the Texas Rig with the rod tip down & slowly turning the reel handle. Dragging requires maintaining bottom contact at all times. Swimming a Texas Rig requires no bottom contact & is done at any depth of the water column including the surface. Hopping is short stroking the Texas Rig up off the bottom with frequent pauses.
  13. @cyclops2 Everyone has their own personal repertoire of confusion! @Mike L and I think a lot along the same lines but each us adds a personal touch. Mike likes throwing Zoom's Magnum Ultravibe Speed Worm, I throw the smaller Speed Worm. We both use 1/8 th weight & both swim it a lot. Watching Mike's abilities over the years I added the Magnum Worm to my repertoire. The hook & line are your connection to the bass. Kinda important ?
  14. Control! ? Hook sets ain't just about driving the hook point home. It should be about gaining control of the fish. I see guys set hook with plenty of authority & then hesitate giving the bass control. My mindset is to turn the fish's head & get it coming towards me all in one motion.
  15. LFS 3 ea Tournament MB Tournament MP Team Lite Crush Lazer TP1 Black 3 ea Lew's take a little more thumb input than Shimano or Daiwa. Keep well maintained & fresh line on em. Lew's rods sensitive, light, & rugged.
  16. What are you doing differently this summer? Not catching! ? With these extreme winds I ain't going!
  17. Sometimes a subtle change can mean the difference between catching 2 pounders & catching 5 pounders. If you don't throw it you'll never know.
  18. Why do you only throw 2? Berkley Chigger Craw NetBaits Paca Craw Rage Craw & Lobster Yum Christie Craw & Money Craw Zoom Ultra Vibe Speed Craw To name a few with different profiles & action.
  19. So how many times do you wash your hands though out the day? How long do you wait between washings?
  20. Apparently I was supposed to mention, Lunker Lures Triple Rattleback Jig.
  21. I put a couple spurts in the bag only because I'll put 3-4 sacks in one.
  22. I use "worm juice" for two purposes first as a lubricant because I fish in grass a lot and the "worm juice" helps my plastic baits slide through easier. I use Fish Formula II or Baitmate (clear) with a ½ oz of 100% pure anise oil added; this is to mast any odor my plastic may have pick up. The only place y'all find 100% pure anise oil is at your local pharmacy, the rest will be 40-70% max.
