  1. What Is Your Dream Fishing Trip? Taking my grandkids ?
  2. Only in the fact you cast & retrieve. If I am seated on the front deck of my boat & want to access new water I simply swivel my seat 90° or 180°. In my boat I can fish up hill, down hill, or across. In my boat I can fish vertically in grass, on the bank I have fish horizontally. Bank fishing charges your entire approach.
  3. Glad you have unlimited access to the banks you fish, some of us don't. Just because I have limited access don't mean the fish ain't there. That an 11.3# from the bank while standing in chest high roseau cane.
  4. Wrong! ? Depending on the body of water, fishing from the bank may only offer limited access to the water. Some of y'all act like bank fishing is done in ponds with well manicured grounds up to the waters edge. I bank fish ponds, rivers, bayous, marshes with extremely limited access. Chest high reeds, standing under trees, only having the ability to make a cast in one direction. Fishing out of any boat is way easier!
  5. 4 hrs huh ? You mentioned brush plies? Texas Rigs & Jig-n-Craws (of course), fish em more vertically in the brush pile. Yeah I'm be graphing points & creek channels.
  6. @Drawdown I would have thought they weighed more than that. I'll have to look at the ones I have. I know some are aluminum, they're not very heavy. I've always thrown Wacky Rigs with a nail weight, now everyone says that's a Neko Rig & I'm like whatever. I will also Texas Rig Trick Worm or Bass Assassin Tapout Worm & insert the nail in the tail. This will cause the worm to fall more horizontal.
  7. Ya gotta get it down to the bend of the hook and squeeze it tight.
  8. Nails come in different diameters thus different weights. Don't understand why y'all wanna waste money on lead or tungsten weights that you're probably gonna lose.
  9. "c'est fini", that's it finished!
  10. Go to Lowe's or Home Depot & buy 11/2" paneling nails. They have nice little ridges that keep them in the plastic & unlike lead or tungsten the desolve in the water.
  11. @BigAngus752 In the cast of these rods I don't understand why Lew's even added the EVA. They could have just made it a split grip & stopped right there. To me all they did was add unnecessary weight. As for the rod themselves I've only thrown the 7' 3.5" for 2-3 hours. It handled 1/2-3/4 oz jigs quite well. The reel seat is strong, a big plus for me. It balanced well with a Lew's BB1.
  12. The negative for me is EVA Grips, I know cork is where it needs to be but for me EVA is just cheap.
  13. Fluorocarbon, ain't half of what it's hyped to be. Z-Man Evergreen Chatterbait Jack Hammer, rotflmao
  14. 2/0 ? I wanna have something to grab with my hook remover when the swallow it.
  15. What I have yet to determine is how do I know the bass are actively feeding? After I catch 1 or 2, 4 or 5, 10 or 12.
  16. Watch Andy Montgomery, Gerald Swindle, or Dean Rojas! Dean is the only person I know who can make the lure curve when skipping.
  17. One solution right there I've also noticed when spooling braid most anglers don't put enough tension on the line. I spool all lines as tight as i can. After a few cast you line will get "loose", this is an opportunity for braid to dig in on hookset. I'll make a really long cast, strip a couple arms lengths, pinch the line between my thumb/index finger & reel it back up as tight as possible. That's a dumb Cajun's opinion!
  18. About the time I think I have them figured out they prove to me I don't! There are times where everything falls into to place, the right location, the right time, & the right presentation. I've had 100 fish days, caught 21 bass in a single day that went 102#, 17 bass on consecutive cast off a single stump, & 3 double digits in a day. I don't attribute it to me being that good but rather I was that persistent.
  19. Definitely will add y'all to our church pray list!
  20. This is me ? I bought the wife a 2020 Nissan Rogue, for the first couple of weeks she drove all the time. When I started driving it the mpg when up 8-12 miles simply because I use the cruise. Down here it's in town drivers, they believe speed limits & red lights are just suggestions.

I ain't quite to the level of understanding as a @Team9nine I'm trying really hard. Another hook I find works really well is Mustad's Grip-Pin.
