It doesn't matter if the line tie is horizontal, vertical, diagonal, resseced, or what ever. It's about it being "rolled" foward if you will, this removes it out of the way of the hook point. Second it's more bullet shaped which goes through grass better. In wood the jig will follow your line up to the "limb" & over with minimal pressure. Other eye locations kick the back of the jig up snagging whatever is near. With the bottom being wider than the top this jig "sits" upright on the bottom. Not like a Shaky Head, nose down. This helps the hook penetrate the roof of the mouth. At least Hackney convinced me!

My son's back seat (deck) is movable. We have considered doing something similar to what you're wanting. There's one major issue, this boat is a single fiberglass hull. The problem will be attaching anything to hull. My thought was trying to build a wider seat out of fiberglass using the old one as a pattern

Best time to go fishing is anytime you can go fishing. I catch more big bass at night, oh wait I fish more at night. If you fish more in the middle of the day guess when your most fish will be caught?

You have a front deck? What are you trying to deck? That's my son's boat, it has a 25 hp on it.

I pretty much throw one jig Hack Attack Fluorocarbon Jig I cast it, pitch it, flip it, swim it, in every imaginable type of cover. Look at the hook eye in relationship to the hook point, it almost like a Texas Rig, straight in line. The head is wider than it is tall so it doesn't fall over when sitting on the bottom.

How small a "skiff" ya talking? I've ran all over the Intracoastal waterway 14' jon boat with 25 hp. I'm currently running a 16' Alweld with a 40 hp. Running the canal you will encounter tugboats or crew boats. Crew boats are faster & push decent wakes. Tugs not only push a wake but they draw water away from the bank. Both can cause problems if you're not careful. When appoarching a tug I don't get to close to either the tug or the bank. But leaning more towards the bank.

The Jig is one of the most productive lures for fishing heavy cover of any type known to anglers. The Jig is one of the most productive lures for catching larger than average bass. But despite its pure awesomeness the angler must keep in mind there will be days when the bass simply do not want a jig. So to all the young anglers (not chronological but experientially) struggling when casting, flipping, pitching, or punching with the Awesome Jig keep in mind there will be times when the Jig aint gonna be that AWESOME!

Don't know who the Googan Squad is & don't really care. I look at plastics durability as you can have lures in your tackle box or fish in the livewell but you can't have both! I full expect to loose some & if that Rage Bug catches one bass it did what I hired it for.

Every record holder will say it's the rod & the casting technique. They use super tuned Abu Garcia's not cause they cast better but rather they free spool better. They're also using 12-14' specialty rods.

Been saying that here for years! The reason Abu Garcia's are picked by world champions is because they "free" spool better than any other reels. But their rods ain't a 7' Carolina Lizard Dragger!
