Other than wire diameter we need to consider the distance from the line tie to the swivel. Longer arm has more flex thus creating more vibration. Short arms flex less & put more emphasis on blade design. Blade design is another part of the equation. Deep cupped blades create more vibration than flater blades. Blade finish has a lot to do with flash. In off colored water painted blades excel, yet they're seldom mentioned here.

Lot of things to consider Pond, lake, River, bayou or creek Marsh, brackish or freshwater Is the water generally off colored or clear. What caused the change, how drastic was the change. Bass in bodies of water that are normally off colored use their lateral line to locate pray more than their eye sight to feed.

@LrgmouthShad Since Lonnie's passing the company has went down 😥 @king fisher The research Lonnie did measured both flash & vibration given off. Thin wire definitely gave off more vibration but the down side is it bends easily & eventually breaks from being straightened. Stanley tapered shaft eliminated that problem. The "Wedge" shaped blade adds to the amount of vibration.

@Crow Horse Don't know if that's the exact name brand I use but mine are maybe 1/8" wide. Notice how the tag end lays horizontal.

There was a study done showing which spinnerbait has the most flash & vibration. Stanley's Vibra Wedge easily beat every spinnerbait on the market including Hildebrandt. Humdinger is an absolute killer but the thin wire will bend easily & will break.

To keep skirts in place easily I use micro zip ties. Most zip ties have a "vertical" tag end, the ones I buy have a "horizontal" tag end. You can even get em in various colors.

Bass live where they're born! I fish a lot of tidal marshes & freshwater marshes. They all have soft to mud bottoms. Bass that were born there adapt to that environment.
