Control lake vegetation with drawdown?
One of the reasons Toledo Bend lost all of the grass was a extremely low lake level followed by a historic high lake level.

Does water temperature vary bait choice?
I do not have warm water lures & I do not have cold water lures. I have bass fishing lures, I throw them year round, just in different locations. While it is true a bass's metabolism slows down during winter, that does not mean they go dormant. All it means is they don't need to feed as often. When they do feed it quite often will be just as aggressive as a summer bite. Minimum output, maximum in take!

Latest Catch Pics Thread
First congratulations on the Hawg! Hint: I don't use the sites search feature, instead I use my favorite search engine, type in the subject, & then add bassresource.com. That will pull up almost everything on this site about that subject.

Understanding flats better
You have to understand the overall topography of your body of water. What your describing could be the only "flats" on your waters. We've looking at a snippet of a body of water & asked to make a snap decision. Here on Toledo Bend we have everything from those types, & up to 100+ acre flats.

Understanding flats better
In my eyes that's part of an underwater point. Yes that can be considered a "flat", as can the top of a hump.

Bullet Weight Color and Sheen
Before painting tungsten weights were shiny silver colored & lead weights after several fish became shiny from teeth marks. Neither effected the bite even at night.
