One thing WE need to keep in mind when reading books, watching videos, or comments on bassresource, is where the person is from & the body of water they're fishing. I read every thing @A-Jay posts but I understand where he fishing ain't Toledo Bend. I glean what's applicable to my waters!

I'm tired if losing fish with offset hooks...
They're a good quality hook, the issue I found with them is the little fiber bait keeper over time & number of fish caught flexes outward. This allows it to catch grass, rendering it useless in any type vegetation.

@FishTank Some fuel for thought The straight shank & the offset are not round bend hooks. That style hook has less gap than a round bend, both are to small for a Senko. I don't pick hook sizes based on the length of the plastic but rather the thickness of the plastic. in most cases a straight shank hooks allows the plastic to slide up the line keeping that weight away from the hook. Look at the gap size of the Mustad hook. 3/0 Wire dia. .052 in Gap 17 mm 4/0 Wire dia .056in Gap 18.7 mm 5/0 Wire dia 0.06in Gap 20.4 mm

Bullet Weights Over 1/4oz?
Flipping, Pitching, & casting Texas Rigs my weight selection is 1/16 - 1/2 oz. Probably 90% is 1/8, 3/16, & 1/4 oz. All tungsten Why? Rate Of Fall I'll throw those 3 from dirt shallow out 25'. Punching is a whole set of different rules!

Not another BFS post (well kinda)
What I like the most about BFS is I like small light reels, always have. I started this bass fishing adventure using Penn saltwater reels. Graduated to Abu Gracia Ambassadeur 5000 to Shimano Bantams to Calcutta 50s to Lew's Tournament Lite weighing in at 5.3 ozs.

1976: I attended a week long seminar in Houston Texas that totally changed my outlook on bass fishing. The man putting on that seminar was Elwood L. " Buck" Perry. We talked about a lot of things but Spoonplugs wasn't one.

For every bass you catch on the bank there's 5 behind you waiting to be caught! Buck Perry taught us about "structure" fishing, not shallow or deep, shoreline or offshore. Not all structure holds bass but all bass are related to structure.

Do you guys deep clean your Baitcasters' AR bearings?
My AR doesn't have bearings!

Most anglers start their map study at the shoreline & work deeper. Y'all should be starting at the river/creek bottom & work shallower.

Not another BFS post (well kinda)
The ones we throw are not Creme, they're made by a local company. 4" long, tiny pearch hooks, no weed guard. I throw em on these little gem with a Berkley Lighting Rod

Heat
I grew up in the construction industry so I'm very familiar with being in the heat. When it comes to bass fishing I would rather not! Another huge plus for night fishing is I seldom see or hear another boat.

Not another BFS post (well kinda)
Not sure what it weighs but I throw a prerigged worm or a Wacky Rigged Zoom Finesse Worm. This is done on a Shimano Crucial CRC-X610MHXF, Calcutta 100A, 12# Big Game. If I wanted to go lighter I would simply change rods.

Carolina Rig Search Methodology?
Chunk-n-reel Usually a expanding circle Depends on the size of the area

Offshore bass fishing in summer – the easy way!
Shallow offshore could be 15'. Offshore structures to me are not connected to the shoreline.

2nd best buzzbait
My second buzzbait choice is a Stanley Ribbit. It can be fished effectively in open water & when confronted with grass I just keep chunking.
