  1. I had a similar issue where I had several hooks break on football jigs. Chris replied later that evening. A few days later (today), I got a FedEx at the house replacing everything that broke. Tossed in a hat and a catalog as well. Fantastic customer service. Thats the first time I've ever had a problem with one of their products, and it was very quickly fixed. Couldn't ask for it to have been handled any better.
  2. Great minds think alike!
  3. 8/16 = 1/2 oz 7/16 is JUST shy of half an ounce. 4/16 = 1/4 oz 5/16 is JUST over a quarter ounce.
  4. Those Curado's are looking lonely without anything spooled on them.
  5. A good quality two part epoxy should work. Take the transducer off of the boat if at all possible. Mix the epoxy as per the manufacturers directions. Smear it on both pieces. Let it get a little tacky before you stick the two ends together. Lay it sideways on a flat surface so there is no tension on the new joint. Let it dry "completely." There should be some time frame on the tubes as to the dry to touch time and the complete dry time. Just remember, you get what you pay for in most cases. Buy a good glue.
  6. I use 30lb braid on my worm and jig rod. 12-14 lb fluoro leader in most situations with an Alberto knot. I'll tie the braid straight to a jig if I'm in enough cover. Been very happy with that.
  7. LETS GO DOLPHINS! <cry>
  8. Just thread it on the hook and bring the point out the top of the trailer. You want to make sure it's on as straight as possible. If it's a chunk, you can either thread it on the same way, or just kind of nose hook it.
  9. I've heard good things about that big flippin stick. I'd probably buy one if it wasn't for that god awful color. My eyes hurt just looking at them.
  10. Leader it. Use an alberto knot. Be happy.
  11. Terry Crews has dubbed this as, "The manliest movie ever." I can't wait to see this one.
  12. Is it overkill for your first reel? Probably. At that price though, I can't blame you. Good deal on a fantastic reel.
  13. Just to add: The only reason I use the swim senkos as trailers is because they work perfectly for it after they get a little torn up texas rigging them. You can use almost any paddletail style lure as a trailer to mimic a baitfish. I've also used grubs, twin tails, etc etc. Brown Fat Albert Grub on a brown swim jig works great. Dip the tip of the tail in some chartreuse JJ's and you've got a great Bluegill imitation. The colors aren't all that important, it's more of matching the general hue and the size of the forage.
  14. What part of Florida? Theres a few regular posters here that are from all over Florida. I'm sure one of the local guys can help you out.
  15. Down here for me: Soft plastic swimbaits (Swim Senkos, Skinny Dippers, hollow bellies) Big worms (Thumper, Anaconda, DeLong, Ol Monster) Plastic Craws (Rage Craw/Lobster, GYCB Fat Baby Craw) Some type of "beaver" bait (Sweet Beaver, Wooly Bug, etc) Jigs Lipless Cranks (Xr50, Spots, Red Eyes) If I'm in cover that isn't as thick as usual, spinnerbaits and a mix of diving cranks.
  16. Zoom Meathead in Green Weenie or Bass Magic Shakey Tails in Silver Shad
  17. Just the angle of the dangle.....
  18. Rig it just like a standard jig trailer with the hook exposed. Thread the hook through the head, then run it out the back of the bait. The tail will move side to side on that swim senko.
  19. For a baitfish mimic, I'll use something like a swimming senko as a trailer. It's produced a lot of fish for me.

  21. rofl Gotta get them nuggets
  22. Yeah I found a few. Hopefully I can find some locally. Really don't want to pay for the shipping on a 4 dollar part. At least I don't really have to worry about welding it in place. That was my biggest concern.
  23. Fully agree. The head is the wrong shape for a Copperhead. The fish looks like it could be a catfish like previously mentioned. Or it may be a young carp as well.
  24. The rubberized flooring material would probably work. I would be concerned about how much it weighs though. That stuff can't possibly be light. The only way I could see you getting away with it is to put on a really light coat. The drawback is that it will probably scratch up fairly easily with such a thin layer of it on the boat. Personally, I would just replace the carpet. It's fairly easy to do.
