Actually got out on my little lake for an hour today. Saw a couple more Peacocks that had fry around them, and a couple of absolute monsters sitting on a bed under the neighbors dock. Looked like they had just moved up. Darted off the very instant a lure got anywhere near them. One of them made the fish in the picture I posted not long ago look like a minnow. Good to hear that they've started to make a comeback a little further north. That's going to make a lot of people happy.

Way to go Dan and Shane. I see what I've been missing by messing around with work so much lately. I need to get out to the lake quick. Looks like you two had an absolutely awesome day.

Can we at least talk about how bad the Phins are? Personally, I just enjoy getting out on the water. I'm generally happy whether I'm catching fish or not.

I'm still lurkin around. Things have been excessively hectic around here lately. Business has been popping up left and right, not that I'm complaining. Appreciate the concern though. I'm anxiously awaiting the week off that I have coming up.

I'm jealous. I was stuck driving around for most of the day today. Had to go drop some stuff off at Bal Harbour. Would have much rather been out fishing.

That's the first thing that came to my mind as well. I saw the picture and instantly thought of the umbrella rigs that are hanging up in my garage. Oh, if anybody wants to send me a ridiculous amount of money, I'll make one or two for you. . Just need to downsize them a bit from the ones I use for offshore trolling.......

Great fish, Mike! Sounds like you guys were in the right area. Shame you dropped that big girl at the boat. That's fishing for you though. Looks like the lake is going to be putting out some big fish in the near future with the water coming back up. Good things to come for sure.

Looks like with the change in weather and all the rain that has been pouring in, the Peacocks are spawning again. For those of you looking to get out and catch a few south American beauties, right now might be a good time to do it. Here in Broward I was standing on my dock watching pairs of them cruising around. Some already had balls of fry around them. Just look for the fry boiling on the surface, toss a lure in the area and hold on. Let the fun ensue.

It's been a while since I've been able to do much fishing. Work has been getting in the way of all of my fun. With all the water pouring in down here lately though, I figured I'd walk out back and make a few casts. Apparently the local Peacock population is getting larger and healthier here. Won't be too much longer until I'll be chasing a state record in my little rock pit... I didn't put her up on the scale, but I'd wager she was pushing my personal best or more. Stripped drag all over the place. Was only hooked by the thinnest little piece of skin on the top lip. The hook pulled out right as I lipped it. Lucky. Not too shabby for a quick break from doing some afternoon work around the house.

Definitely looks like dinner. Great fish. I haven't really gone after snook since we had that big freeze that killed a bunch if them. I may need to start chasing aft them again. Love catching......and eating snook.

I finally had a few minutes to walk outside and take a look at my little lake today and was shocked at how high the water is right now. I can only imagine how everything north of me looks with the amount of water that's been dumped into the area lately. Looks like Okeechobee dodged a bullet as far as the water levels go....

Depending on the date I'm in. As long as I know a bit in advance I'm up for just about anywhere. Somebody start throwing out dates.

I can listen to just about anything and be good to go. I don't know what I'd do without music in my life. When I'm at work in the shop though, I generally have the local classic rock station on. It's something everybody can listen to without complaint.

I hate shaving my neck. Get ingrown hairs like a mofo. I use my clipper set to zero and go at it that way. Much less painful for me.

Was a good game to watch. I caught the end of it after getting home from the Miami game. Wish FSU would have won. The Canes v. Noles game in a few weeks would have been much more interesting then. Back pain must be going around. I absolutely wrecked my lower back a week or so ago. Ice pack and rest are all I'm thinking about right now. Thank God there's football to watch while I sit here on the couch icing my pain away. Lol
