I picked up a Savvy, Mike. To be honest, I'm overly impressed with it. I wish I would have gone straight to the Dobyns when I bought rods earlier this year. It's got fantastic balance. Feels fantastic in the hands. It is definitely more sensitive than the Crucials and Avids that I've used. Not just a little, it is very noticeable. I don't see myself ditching my Crucial flippin stick or spinning rods yet, but I'm in the process of replacing my casting rods. I'm not sure if I want to make the jump to the Champions yet. I kind of like the 150-180 dollar market right now. From what I've been told, there is a slight difference between the Champion and the Savvy, but it's not a "huge" difference. The way it was explained to me is that the blanks are the same, the components are just better on the Champions. Better guide inserts, cork, the hook keeper is a better design, etc etc. For the 170 bucks that the 733 runs, I don't think you can beat it in the price range. My next decision is to get a 734 or a 704. Who knows, I may just end up buying both of them and replacing another rod. We'll have to see about that one though. Next time I get a chance, we'll have to hook up so you can play around with it. Hit that golf course up over by your place or something.

I've got a 733, waiting on my 734. I can honestly say I haven't found something I can't do with the 733. Obviously I'm not going to be flipping very heavy cover with that rod though. Otherwise, it's a fantastic rod for a lot of different techniques. I use it for shallow cranking as well. I'm in love with that rod. I'll probably be getting a second 733 in the near future. Very, very versatile stick.

Vader definitely is right near the Top. I loved that Doritos commercial with the Pug though. Mind you, I recently bought a Pug puppy. That may have something to do with it..... The commercial with Faith Hill was great. I definitely did not see that line coming.

What parts do you need, Mike? I can dig around in my parts bin and see what I've got here.

Well I can say this. You'll never catch me out there in my Saltwater boat. I know the wake that thing kicks up. I'd feel absolutely horrible if I ran by a bass or flats boat while on a plane. Even slowing down, theres still going to be a large wake rolling down after it for a while.

Chris. Reel handle. Not rod nor reel seat. The thing you turn on a reel. Rooster, as far as the strength goes, carbon fiber should be stronger than graphite or aluminum. It's some strong stuff. That being said, there are different qualities of carbon fiber. It can also be laid much differently to make it stronger. Vacuum formed as well. Like anything, it all depends on how it is constructed.

Sounds a lot like a big king, wahoo, or an AJ. 30 pounds of drag aint necessarily going to stop a large critter. I've had my 80 wide trolling reels smoked by big kings and wahoo over in Bimini. Could just as easily been a shark. Thats one of the reasons why I still love saltwater fishing, you never know what may come along in the spread and start to nibble.

There are some serious bags coming out of the tournament out there this weekend. This could be one scary good year of fishing down here.

I'd be very surprised if that handle from a Carbonlite fit the Citica. I can all but guarantee that it wont.
