Hi everyone! I am looking at picking up a new reel and wanted something that I can use to cast weightless worms etc. Something that would replace my spinning rod. I just bought a new curado 200e7 with a Kistler 7 MH/f rod which I love but now I have been looking at some of the JDM reels and would like to try one out. any suggestions? I would like to stay in the 300-350 (for the reel only) range, left hand retrieve . Thanks!!! Dan

Hey I just wanted to thank everyone who helped out! I just ordered a Kistler Senko special 7' MH Fast the Magnessium TS From Tackle Warehouse! I paid the 10.00 extra for overnight so I should have it in my hands tomorrow ;D Cant beat that 10.00 for overnight from CA to SC. Now I just have to figure out what to spool my curado up with Thanks again! Dan

Hey BigRick I know you also mentioned a Kistler and they seem to stock them at Bass Pro so I might check that one out as well since BPS is only 10min from my house. Would the Senko special work 7' MH Fast the Magnessium TS model Thanks!!!!!!! Dan

Ok I am checking out these other rods right now. @dink is this the one you are talking about ? Powell Casting Rod 7' Mag-Hvy EF 705C If so do you think the MAG-Heavy would be ok for my needs??

Ok I have been reading a bunch of threads trying to find the right Power and Action rod to be paired up with my Shimano Curado 201E7 reel that I ordered today. Here is my situation, I fish from shore mostly small farm ponds. I primarily use Plastics and have been using a Shimano sahara 2500fd with BPS Xtreme Rod 6'6" MH Fast spinning setup. I am looking to use the Baitcaster for plastics as well as light spinnerbaits, frogs and topwater baits and some crankbaits ( a little of everything). I had my eye on a St. Croix MOJO 7' MH Fast or should I be looking at something else???? I have around a 100.00 Limit As always, everyone on here has always been very helpful and I really appreciate it!! Dan

OK thanks for the reply!! I fish mostly small farm pounds that are pretty shallow so I use a lot of plastics. It would be good to know that I can use the curado for that as well. Thanks again!

Do you all think the Curado 201e7 would have any problems casting a 5inch senko Wacky rigged??

Ok I am ready to pick up a second reel and rod. I currently have a Shimano Sahara 2500 FD and BPS XPS Extreme 6.6 MH for my spinning setup and wanted to go with a new baitcaster setup as well. I was thinking about getting the Curado 201E7 St.croix Mojo not sure which size and action I need something that I can use for most baits besides light plastics which I have the spinning setup for. Let me know if you have any suggestions I am only looking at spending around 250 for everything Thanks! Dan

I hear ya ! I live about 10mins away from BPS so I find myself stopping in there at least 3 times a week!!

Well I have had good luck on the Space Monkey over the weekend. I am just getting back into fishing (the last time I was bass fishing was when they first introduced the Slug-o ). I picked up a few different baits that seemed popular on here and the Space Monkey was one of them. I Texas rigged it with a owner 4/0 1/8oz keel weighted hook and just did a slow retrieve. yesterday I caught 4 on it and one was about 3lbs. So far I like it a lot! Dan

yeah the one I got was just the regular Hybrid they did not have the ultra soft there. Is there a big difference??

Thanks for the reply. The president did feel nice! I just was not sure about the brand so I went with the Shimano wich was only 20 more the combo. Maybe I should take it back for the president combo and save the 20.00 ?

Ok I am new here and I was just walking around BPS today and on a whim purchased a Shimano Sahara 2500 FD and BPS XPS Extreme 6.6 MH Combo for 149.00 and now I have a little buyers remorse. I am just getting back to fishing after taking about 12 years off and most of my old stuff baitcasters and spinning reels have been either damaged or lost or borrowed over the years. So I was just looking at picking up an all around spinning reel combo that was somewhat decent. Now I should have asked if this setup is ok before I purchased it but I can still return it if need be. I am searching on here right now and I see the Phuluger president would have been as little less expensive and that was the direction the salesman wash pushing me to (said it had more bearings) but I didnt know to much about that brand. Thanks in advance!
